I’ve mounted up two of these units now. For a child’s bike they might be alright, but if you run a quality chain this will most likely break before chain stretch actually becomes an issue.

It’s a hardened plastic but not to bad y’all them it is a horrible product I’ve have had it on my 212 predator with a 35 chain and it literally just eats the hard plastic as I go and wore completely out in a month

this was well made but longer then the factory one on my 2017 coolster 125cc youth atv. the spring was not a perfect fit but with a little heat and a bench vise i made it work with little effort. i would buy this in the future if i needed another
