These seem to be working well for our ionizer style humidifier. We had never ran a humidifier of this kind before and we started to notice an awful chalky white dust on our surfaces.A friend of mine mentioned it's probably my humidifier and I remember the starting demineralization pods that came with it and how it didn't do it for the first few months. They last about 3 months max using two of them.

I use a humidifier in the bedroom at night because I live in the desert. The humidifier works well. I fill up gallon jugs of water from the hose and put these demineralization tabs inside. I still have to clean my humidifier out thoroughly every two weeks. Now if I use distilled water I can go for much longer periods of time without cleaning the humidifier but the cost of distilled water starts adding up. I'd rather clean my humidifier every couple of weeks and use these guys.

After using filtered water noticed milky looking film on surfaces, this eliminated the white dust immediately that humidifier was leaving.

I've been putting off buying these Demineralization Cartridges for a long time finally after taking a long time cleaning our dehumidifier and dealing the the flaked on iron particularly in the heating chamber I decided to read about demineralization cartridges and then I ordered a pack of ten. Wow , what a difference they make , They are inexpensive enough so that rather then change the cartridge every other time I change it everytime I clean the humidifier which is every two - three weeks and for the most part except for the heating chamber which I use a 1/2" paint brush cut on an angle to clean I just rinse the rest with a little white vinegar and warm water and all of that golden colored stuff is off then rinse it with clean water. I might overdo it but it takes me about half of the time than it did in the past to clean it and I must say that with the demineralization cartridge in the tank the humidifier seems to put out more mist.

I had some cool mist humidifiers that I stopped using because of the "White Dust" they produced. Our well water does not have a lot of minerals, but when run through these humidifiers the dust was a problem. These were inexpensive, and even though the reviews were mixed concerning the dust, I decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did!My humidifiers have large (3 Liter?) tanks, so I used 2 in each tank. I ran them on high for a week, then went looking for dust. There was a tiny amount, but nowhere near the amount these humidifiers used to produce.Keep in mind that the dust is caused by minerals like calcium which are dissolved the water. This is especially true of well water; more so if you don't use a water softener. So your results will likely vary if you are on a well instead of city water.Bottom line? These worked for me and I will buy them again. Only used them for a few weeks so far, so I can't comment on how long they last. But I am very happy I decided to try them!
