TechSpec’s flag ship tank grip material, Snake Skin, has over twenty years of material development. It’s not easy bonding adhesive to rubber. TechSpec’s, Motorcycle Tank Grips were developed to improve body, bike control and increase riders comfort. Gripping your motorcycle between your knees or thighs improves overall control of your ride by better securing your body weight and seat position under the forces of braking, cornering and acceleration while also relieving pressure from your wrists, elbows, shoulders and lower back giving you increased control and a more comfortable, safer ride. Snake Skin is a thin, .125” medium durometer “rubber” material that offers a secure, comfortable grip, durable protection and a clean stock look. Custom designed for over 250 motorcycles, used by multiple GP and Moto America racers plus riding schools, (GP2: Sii, Tech3, RW racing , Redbull KTM Ajo, Josh Herrin, Kyle Wyman, Andrew Lee and Yamaha Champions Riding School).

Received these yesterday, was a 67 degree day so in order to follow the installation instructions I not only utilized a heated garage, but also a heat gun to warm the surfaces and pads. Even after all of this the glue still failed to adhere. I came out to go to work seeing the pads peeled back. All I can say is I'm going to be looking for other options if I can't get these to stick.

Most of all these grip pads were good on flat-ish surfaces. 2 of the pieces require installing onto two different surfaces while creating an angle. Unfortunately the smaller contact surfaces never adhere due to the bend, so you'd end up with one part of the pad not adhering to the surface it was suppose to.I am sure after continued exposure and accumulation of dirt, dust, sand, etc. on the exposed adhesive side, I will eventually rip it off so the elements do not rub on the paint near the gas tank. It doesn't seem like the manufacturer test fit the pieces and ensure adhesive would hold the piece at two different angled surfaces, even after warming up the surface and adhesive. There are other kits that does not bend like this kit in case anyone is purchasing.

Used on my 2021 MT-10. So much more confidence in the turns with these installed. They add to the aggressive look of the bike as well! I live in Texas, it's hot as a living hell here. I've left my bike parked outside for 8-hours during my work day (not in direct sunlight, but still the heat) and they still stay planted on the bike. Do the proper prep/cleaning of area before placing these on the bike, and they will last you a long time.

Warranty is B. S. Company claims the product is warranted to perform as expected but when asked to replace a failing portion, there is no reply or communication whatsoever. Non-existent customer service. Hey Tech Spec, don’t tell consumers your product has a warranty when you have no intention on following through with customer inquiries for warranty claim. Garbage product, shady company.

Turns the slick sides of the gas tank into a grippy surface you can grip with the inside of you thigh/knee. Very helpful in keeping leg pressure on the outside of the tank when cranked over. Not the easiest to apply straight, but that's not the product's fault completely. Tip: put the bike on a work stand, don't apply these when it's on the side stand.
