I saw several reviews online of this bag before I purchased. They were all very good reviews. Unfortunately, I can't agree. Here's the thing: On paper, this bag looks like an absolute no-brainer. It has features that compare with top-of-class camera packs, and if it were judged on the features alone, this would be a five-star item.But...the exterior material is substandard. That is putting it politely. It feels like textured plastic. In fact, if I apply some pressure to a finger, poking into it, I can feel it stretch. If there is any woven component within, it is flimsy. The material is paper thin.Compared to literally every camera bag I own, even cheaper ones, the exterior material on this bag comes up far, far behind the pack. And that is a real disappointment. A bag as well designed as this one is deserves sturdy materials, and this just wrecks my impression of the bag.I've packed it up with gear, and I will certainly be willing to amend my review if this thing lasts. I just honestly don't expect that. I've been an active photographer since I was a kid. I've had dozens of bags and packs in all those years. And I have never seen material this cheap on a bag. I don't want to beat it to death, but honestly, I've had cheap windbreaker jackets with thicker material.I wish I could rate it higher. Design would be five stars. But I'm being polite to rate it three stars. I'm that taken aback by the quality of the exterior. Too bad.

This is a very well made pack. They put a lot of thought into the design (almost too much) and it shows. Quality materials, tons of storage, compartments and pockets galore, weather protection, and comfort. I don’t do the level of outdoor shooting that this could withstand on any regular basis but I would feel confident in packing my pro gear in it. This will probably be my go-to pack for traveling when I don’t need to bring my laptop (it sadly doesn’t fit in the 30L pack).PRO’s-Quality! The weather proofing is solid, and all the straps and padding is too notch.-Storage. Enough room for a full size DSLR and at least 3 pro series zoom lenses. Then you have all the different pockets and compartments. Too many to count and there are a lot of hidden pockets within pouches.-Flexibility: the outer storage pocket is expandable via a zipper, the side pocket has an adjustment strap, and of course the roll bag on top expands a LOT. There’s also a compression shell for storing things like a bike helmet or jacket that pulls out of a pocket on the back. It even comes with extra ties for attaching random gear. Nice touch, folks.-comes with a rain shell! So many brands make you purchase this separate so at this price it’s nice to have it included.CON’s:-there’s so many straps and zippers that they get layered on top of each other so if you want to unzip the outer pocket, for example, you have to unclip the side straps, which can get annoying. I get it from a structural perspective but you choose whether you want to unclip a strap every time you want access to that pocket (and it’s a pretty important and sizable pocket) or you leave the straps unclipped and let them dangle, which is also annoying.-This is a personal preference maybe but I really dislike packs that open from the inside to access the camera gear like this. The reason being that you have to lay the pack on top of all your other gear to open it, which could A) cause the pack to lay uneven and be annoying to get to in the field and/or B) damage any gear you have in the outer compartment. The heaviest and most robust thing in the pack is going to be your camera gear, let’s be honest. Everything else will likely be things like memory cards, filters, hard drives, etc. aka stuff you might not want to crush under the weight of 20lbs of camera gear. Of course, you can just try to pack consciously with this in mind but it’s still an annoyance you have to.-Very minor gripe but I wish the laptop sleeve was bigger for how big this pack is. I know a lot of photographers travel with a smaller laptop so this probably won’t be an issue for some people but I also do a lot of video and need a bigger laptop for horsepower. The pack is big enough to accommodate a larger laptop if redesigned but I know it would mean sacrificing padding or the quality of the weather sealing probably so that’s why it’s a relatively minor complaint. The 50L version has a 16” laptop capacity, so there is at least that option for you.Overall great pack and looking forward to using it on the next camping trip.
