I'm actually surprised these are plastic because they almost feel like borosilicate glass. This is a very high quality plastic. We are using the tubes as part of a "mad scientist" themed party. We have beakers as drink glasses and we are filling these test tubes with candies. We will put the test tubes in a rack in the center of the table as part of a centerpiece and then everyone can have them as party favors. The cork sticks well in the end of the test tube. There are brown kraft tags that can be tied to each tube with strings that are supplied, but we won't be using those. The tags are nice to have if you need to label something in the test tube, but that's just not something we need for our use. These are a wonderful addition to our party table. Got these to put epson salts in and decorate. Great for gift giving or promo gifts. Well made and really reasonably priced. Definitely getting more.
