This is a great product for keeping kids entertained and would make a great gift. My very active 7-yr old recently sustained an injury that requires a lot of sitting, and this has been the perfect solution for keeping her happy during healing. She quickly learned how to use the loom and has been busy making bracelets ever since. After mastering the basic pattern, there are many patterns available online so that boredom doesn't set in.The kit comes with everything you need to start creating-- the loom, a hook, a bag of rubber bands in a variety of colors, and "c" hooks. It also includes instructions for 2 basic patterns and how to lengthen your creation, as well as a QR code for more patterns. The loom is designed so that it is easy to maneuver the hook close to the pegs, making it easier to hook the rubber bands. The looms are designed to be able to connect, so even though you can lengthen your creation using only one loom, purchasing multiple looms enables young crafters to do so with less frustration.

This loom is not as easy to use as it may appear. The loops pop off the loom and the directions are confusing. I gifted this to my granddaughter who was 12 at the time. She lost interest in it quickly because she got frustrated. I have a lot of crafting experience so I tried it. It was not that easy to use.
