- Practice not allowing any unnatural drag from the leader to affect the fly - you want your fly to ride the current naturally as a live insect would - just give them an occasional realistic twitch to imitate a grasshopper caught in the current.
- You can also splash them against undercut banks or river edges where hoppers naturally land in the water during the heat of summer.
- These high floating foam body hoppers are also excellent strike indicator flies - try using a small bead head Copper John or other bead head nymph tied 2-3 feet below the hopper.

They look good and float well. They are just a little big for the insect along the streams I fish. Wish they came in smaller sizes.

Have not taken them out yet, it's been stormy since I got them. They look and feel good. I think they should work out just fine.
