As many of the reviews have shown, this camera works well with the app on an Android phone. I thought I'd be a little different and see if I can make it work on a PC with Windows 11.Sure enough, it was effortless. The PC recognized the camera instantly. Opening the Windows Camera application I could then select it and see what it see's.My test was limited as I didn't have a USB-C extension cable. So it was just hooked into the laptop itself as shown. I put a power monitor on it and as can be seen it draws about 0.2Watts or 40mA at 5Volts. This is not a lot of current, however, when I tried attaching it via a USB-C to iPhone converter, my iPhone complained that it was drawing too much current. I do however have an old XR iPhone so you may have better luck or none at all. This wasn't sold as an iPhone or PC compatible device, so that it can do the PC is a bonus. The software for the PC offers very little in the way of control. Brightness, contrast etc do not work on the camera application. Specific software may operate it differently, but as mentioned, this is already above and beyond what was stated. The fan pictures shown are from two different cameras. One is the thermal image, the other was taken by my iPhone camera in visible light, so the two can be compared showing what can be expected. The IR image looks out of focus, but that could be due to the distance being about 4 foot. The camera is likely set to infinity focus. IR images are never as sharp as visible light on cameras available to the public anyway. This camera is however quite good. It has better resolution than my TM160 and cost a lot less too. I will point out that the two shouldn't be compared since one has wifi, an EVF and is made for a different purpose. The camera is sensitive. I touched my phone for a couple of seconds and then put it in the view of the thermal camera. It could detect the residual heat from my fingers on the phone case for about 20 seconds.Overall I like it. It's not a mind blowing product as there are many versions similar in function and price as well as above and below on both.

Ok, i was looking for something to help with energy efficiency around the house, especially in Texas and especially in the summer. Happen to be smack dab in the middle of winter right now, but I'm seeing some very positive results. The first photo is a dog walking put the dog flap and you can see a little heater fan on the counter. The second is a basset hound on an elevated dog bed. See his chilly nose and ears? The third is our other basset sitting on a tempurpedic dog bed on the foor. She looks significantly warmer. Right away I'm going to tackle that dog door. Very informative and should pay for itself after 1 or two Texas extreme weather seasons, especially with the current coupon ot has available. Now, the instructions that came in the box did not say anything about the app, so i just went to Playstore and searched on the company name. I downloaded the second app that came up, picture attached and opened it up. Then i plugged in the device, it appeared and i was taking photos. You have to allow full access to photos, I couldn't get it to operate any other way. Few things about connecting to your phone. It probably won't connect with a phone case on. I had to remove that. I may get a usbc extension to use with it. The chunky part of the device is the lens and faces out. This is where I have a phone tether attached, so I would have had to remove the case anyway because of that. I have no idea of knowing exact accuracy, but on of the photos shows current room conditions and that all seems to match up. This is a huge, breakfast nook/kitchen/living room open space. This will work for my needs, I'm very happy. Oh, there is a setting for switching to celsius and Fahrenheit, thank goodness!

First impression: nicely made device, comes in protective case, with lens cleaner.Instructions limited to a small piece of paper with a small piece of paper with QR code for app. No other instructions or documentation. Scanned the QR code and took me to a web site to download an APK. I very reluctantly did that, as I am concerned about side loaded apps that don't come from the Google Play Store.Launched the app - it requested a number of permissions which all seemed appropriate - and plugged in the IR camera. App sat spinning and did nothing. Phone got warm so clearly there was some kind of processing going on.Researched the reviews here and found once that noted an app in the Play Store called Ruoshui Thermal. Visited the web page for it, determined it was legit and downloaded and installed it. Looked identical to the app that was side loaded. Connect the phone to the USB-C connector and the app sat spinning for a while. Disconnected and connected a few times, approved the requested permissions, and finally the app started working. While most settings in the app are intuitive, it would be helpful to have some kind of either built-in help and/or documentation as to how one should use the app, what settings for various scenarios, other usage tips.Did some initial usage to test the camera out. Satisfactory images and readings - will do some additional testing against a lab calibrated thermometer at some point. As others have pointed out - can't use this camera with a case on your mobile device. (Mine is Samsung S25 Ultra.)Three stars due to lack of documentation, downloading an app apk versus Play Store, and USB-C connector not long enough to work with mobile devices with case.

I find that this thermal imaging camera integrates seamlessly with my Android device. I used it for home inspections and its clear imagery revealed hidden issues in my electrical and plumbing systems. I appreciate its smooth video performance and it handles a wide range of temperatures without maxing out. I also used it for automotive diagnostics and its portability makes it a practical tool for my work. It is very small and lightweight and it has delivered dependable results every time.
