This thermostat is easy to install with standard wiring and simple temperature adjustments, featuring a bright display with large, easy-to-read numbers. So far, it has proven to be more reliable than our previous thermostat of a similar design. The unit fits snugly into the wall plate, which installs easily into the existing junction box. While the value is excellent, the installation requires some experience. Your system may require a common wire, so buyer beware!Setting up the schedule programming is straightforward if you’ve done it before, and overall, installation and insulation are not difficult for those familiar with thermostats. The display is clear and easy to read, and the thermostat works great so far. Will update this review later on when we change seasons and it needs to work with my AC unit.

Make sure to read the description carefully and pay attention to the supported configurations. I made this mistake before getting this one for my system after a few calls to my AC repair buddy.The value is excellent! The unit is easy to install, if you know what you are doing. Having installed a few thermostats I still missed a few technical aspects. Specific to my situation of converting from an 22 year old American Standard that stopped working, I simply moved the wires matching to the new one. However, this one needs Common where the old one did not use it.I snapped the thermostat in and out several times. It held up and works great. The screen and settings are easy to see and navigate. I only wanted a simple on/off so I just leave it on Hold.

Schedule programming is not terribly difficult to set up if you've ever been able to do one before. Insulation is not difficult if you've ever installed one before. Typical size. Display is not difficult to read.

This is a really nice ‘dumb’ programmable thermostat with a lot of great features. It is pretty easy to program and has the usual 5-1-1 programming. It has some other very useful features, like an adjustable swing setting and a display temperature offset if thermostat location is a few degrees different than your main space. Unfortunately, I could not get it wired right to work, and the manual didn’t help at all. No product support is available, so I was in my own. I first tried to wire exactly as the one I was replacing. That didn’t work. So tried based on the manual’s wiring diagrams, but that didn’t work. Was able to get heat, but it didn’t shut off at set temperature. Was also able to get the blower to come on when thermostat activated, but no heat. The thermostat itself was calling for heat and blower correctly per display icons, so purely a wiring issue. I’ve installed about a dozen thermostats over the years and this is the first time I haven’t been able to get one working. Very frustrating and disappointing. My system is a very basic oil forced air system. If you can figure out the wiring for your system, this would be four stars. For me it’s a obe star, but I gave it two because the unit itself is pretty decent.

The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions provided. The blue backlight on the display is a nice touch, making it easy to read the settings even in low light conditions. Nothing bad to say about it for now.
