It is effective in maintaining the radiator's pressure, but the temperature gauge is reading 59°F (15°C) lower than the actual temperature. It's early days, and only time will tell how well it holds up over a few weeks or months. I will be purchasing a regular cap because this one doesn't fill me with confidence.

do not buy. bar rating is incorrect and you'll blow your engine like I almost did. $20 upgrade almost cost me another engine because it vented all my radiator fluid prematurely but the temp gauge said it was still cool. thank God this one was on my dirt bike so I noticed the venting quickly and stopped the engine. spring in the cap was faulty. unfortunately the same cap (but 1.3 bar on my street bike) also failed but it blew my motor costing me $5000 in a spun bearing engine rebuild all because of a faulty radiator cap. thank God I caught the problem this time. street bike was not so lucky. these gauged caps are all pieces of crap!! they are all way off from what the bar rating states, much much lower than advertised!! be warned!
