Similar to picture, with the exception that the product I received has light ridges across the insert. However, this works even better than what the picture shows. Unbeatable price for exactly what I needed. Thanks!

It is ridged and not smooth. This can be problematic, but there is a potential workaround.It is thinner, but I think the ridge was suppose to make up for that fact (and it does).INSTALLATION1st off, seeing all the comments on installation issues, I knew I needed to focus on a clean installation.I used a small flathead screwdriver ( a stiff hard wire or butter knife would likely also work) and completely scraped out the tracks on both sides then vacuumed and repeated. ZERO problems installing. Fit was awesome and easy to put and lock into place.If installed properly, the ridges will not cause it to come out of place (or uninstalled). Instead it will bind and not allow the door to close.FIXING THE RIDGE ISSUEWhat I did was take a utility knife and slightly rounded that bottom edge of the door so that the leading edge of the door did not catch on the edge of the ridge. This allowed the door to push the insert downward instead of causing it to bind.That fixed worked on 1 door. It did not work on the other. The gap on the 2nd door was too narrow and I ordered 1 size down as the solution on the 2nd door. Both doors did finally achieved a very good seals that I am completely satisfied with.

It fit in the old threshold and was just slightly taller than the 50 year seal. No door trimming required.

It works ok. It works better if you add a piece of foam backer rod in between this and the aluminum plate. Also lasts longer if you dont step on it.

Had to buy this insert as my old one was torn and not working properly. Great quality product and easy installation. Just cut the insert to fit the size of your door and install in the metal grooves of your threshold.

It was cheap which explains the quality. It is thin but somewhat functional to fill the gap at the bottom of the door. We'll see how long it lasts. Contrary to some reviews, it was easy to install in my threshold. Note: it was supposed to fit a 36" opening but came in at 35 1/4" and cut on an angle like someone hastily snipped it, which is why only 3 stars. Glad my opening was 32". The MD product I bought for a second door was a little higher but better.

I didnt know the brand of the installed weather strip and it would not be easy to replace the whole thing because the builder in effect cemented it in. But by carefully measuring the space after the old disintegrating rubber strip was removed it looked like this Frost King strip would fit. It did fit really well except that it is perhaps a tiny bit high and so the door is a little stiff to close. But actually that means it is sealing really well which is the objective anyway. So my advice is if you are replacing the rubber portion of a weather strip, measure really well.

Product image shows a smooth surface but product received has ridges and is not 1 7/8”, is only 1 3/4”. Will not fit my door.

The insert that arrived has ridges. Apparently I'm not the only one who is getting inserts with ridges, if you look at the customer photos.The product photo, however, shows an insert with a smooth surface on both sides. Does not work for us, as the dorr, as it closes, pulls the insert out as it catches on the ridges. There's a reason the old one was smooth (and, no, it isn't that the old one originally had ridges that were worn away, you can tell, it was perfectly smooth).
