I got this to send for a funeral, and it turned out perfect. It's a small pint size glass ( like - the brand you know- jar) with a tin twist on lid. I did use a clear balloon glue dot to stick on the edge of the jar rim and pushed the plastic battery plate onto it, otherwise the plate sticks inside the lid when you take the lid off to turn the lights on/off and pulls the light strand out. That solution works flawless, now that I have it filled, the light won't pull out, and you can take the lid off to access the switch easily. The text is actually printed on a clear sticker, but blends so well that it's difficult to find any edges. My lable was just very slightly crooked, not enough to be noticed, unless you are examining it like I did for this review. It comes with a white piece of paper inside that makes the text easier to see, but you can fill it with anything you want, and if it's light, you will still see the writing. The light strand is typical fairy lights on thin, bendable wire, and they all light up very pretty. You do need to add your own batteries, 2AAA. There is also a twine rope tied onto the rim for an added touch. This is a great value, and made a unique and lovely arrangement for the service, but can be kept as a keepsake for years.

This is a touching memorial jar, it has a beautiful poem on it that touches your heart & soul. When I seen it, my mother and Grandmother came to my mind, and this jar will bring me a little peace.It takes 2 AAA batteries, but it DOES NOT come with them! The poem on the front of the jar is really beautiful and it has red cardinals on it too, which is supposed to be the spirit of your loved one checking on you! I really love this jar, going to put it beside my bed on the night stand, and turn the light on.

This is a lovely glass jar! The sentiment is bittersweetness. Would be a nice gift to give or receive, seems to be a good quality. I love glass jars that aren't plastic. It does take AAA batteries, it does give off a soft yellow glow to the little fairy lights that are inside the jar. I think it's a good value for the money

This jar/lantern is very nice. I used it for table decoration at a wake and it worked perfectly. The decals felt like they were very well attached to the jar. I had no concern for them falling off. The fairy lights that came were very bright and added a nice touch. Note: You will need batteries.My only complaint is the frost paper. To get that look of being frosted there's a sheet of frosted paper in there. I knew that when ordering this. I just didn't like how rolled up it was when I received the jar. I had to fight with it a little to open it up to the inside wall. The fairly lights help, but not great. The jar was packaged nicely, though.I would recommend these. Just, perhaps take the frosted paper out and let it flatten out a bit. Then hopefully it will spring out to the wall more.

I wanted to try this item because I wanted to give my niece something to remember her mom. I loved the sentiment on the outside of the jar. It is a perfect size for a nightstand or a windowsill. I put two AAA batteries in the lid and put the light string inside the paper that is included in the jar. I read the paper was supposed to give off a starlight effect. All it gives is a frosted effect, no stars. Once I give it to my niece and leave it on for longer than I did, I will see if things change. I took one star away for that, and the light string is very delicate and will flicker on and off if you are not careful. I am hoping this will not be a continued issue.It will make a thoughtful gift and if the light string seems like it will not work, I will bring a different string with a cell battery instead of two AAA batteries and see if that makes things better.

This Jar is cute and the message is very nice but I thought the glass was frosted and it's not. It's just a clear glass jar with a frosted piece of paper inside that's kind of freely moving around the inside of the jar. Even though the lights seem like they are led although I'm not even sure on that, I'm not a huge fan of the idea of having lights sitting on up against a piece of paper for hours. I'm kind of disappointed in the design.
