I think that there might be an unmet need for high-quality through-wall mailboxes/drop-boxes. I shopped a long time without ever being fully satisfied. Even with ones at 8x the price of this unit there still were shortcomings. But this one came closest to my wants.One thing in particular I was looking for was a wide mouth that would accommodate the increasingly common padded envelopes. This important specification was unclear in the marketing materials for many boxes. It seems that most units have a mouth of about one inch. This one claimed 2.25”, but actually is 1.6”. Still, larger than many others. The through-wall maximum reach is the claimed 10”.The overall construction quality was better than I expected. The metal seemed thick enough, everything fit properly, and the lock was sturdier than I imagined. The keys are the “dimpled” variety, and can be inserted in either direction. That is a nice convenience, but it is a safe bet that there are not many combinations of the keying and one should not count on them to stop any but the least-skilled thieves.I am not sure what I might have expected, but the flap rivets are not as robust as I would have hoped. Also, the flap, straight out of packaging, had two dents where the flap meets the heaver steel of the trim behind. These dents will only get worse with use. Either the flap should be of a heavier metal, or else there should be some sort of bumpers behind. And the flap was quickly picking up smudge marks, so don’t expect for it to stay very “clean”.Packaging was excellent: not much bigger than the box itself, but with nice sheets of padding and reinforced cardboard corners to protect everything.One star deducted because of the flap issues and the inaccurate mouth specification.

The mailbox came in very fast, earlier then it was suppose too and it was nice. I feel in love with it because it was sleek and clean. I didn't have to bend down to get my mail no more because I have a box for it. Installing the first piece was easy but when I had to connect the chute together it didn't fit the hole I had for my other wall mailbox. I tried other ways to make it fit without having to cut more into the wall because it's a rental and I decided it was best to return it. I would had kept it if it were to fit because it was definitely worth the money.

Installed on my large front porch before finishing the wall.It's now been less than 6 months and the top edge is starting to rust.Not a high quality durable coating.Would not recommend.
