The Thule website indicated that this Fit Kit would fit my car, a two door, 2001 Toyota Echo. However, it does not. I spent 3 hours carefully following the instructions, but it became apparant that the two door echo simply is not compatible with roof racks. The Fit Kit pieces fit into the groove above your door. No door, no groove (at least with the Echo). The distance indicated by the included instructions to seperate the front and rear racks from each other puts the rear rack over where the rear doors would be, if there where some. But, as I mentioned, no door, no groove.Since the Fit Kits not working isn't Amazon's fault the customer is stuck with paying return shipping.

If you're like me, you have a Nissan Altima and for the life of you can't figure out if this is the right fit kit. This fits any 4 door Nissan Altima 2002-2012 PERFECTLY! It is for the Thule 400XT foot pack with the square bars. It WILL NOT fit the new 480 system!!! The feet on the new 480 system are different. So, if you meet the specs I described above. Enjoy!

Couldnt find a definitive fit kit number for an '04 Elantra GT hatchback and almost gave into buying a new complete rack. However, after doing more looking at new complete racks, I noticed they all came equipped with the fit kit 101. Although, not noted and more researching later, turns out this fit kit 101 also fits the older 400(non aero) footpacks(which I have), so I decided to order it up and give it a try. The directions do not give details on an '04 Elantra GT, but turns out the directions for the 2000 Elantra are spot on for the 2004 also. This kit comes with 2 different length brackets...you will need the shorter brackets up front and the longer ones in the rear...same as the 2000 Elantra. Fits both 4 door sedan and 5 door hatchback versions, and the measurements are all the same. So glad I did the extra surfing to find out this kit was indeed what I needed cuz it saved me hundreds on a new rack.

This fit kit is now discontinued from Thule factory store. Therefore amazon was the only location I could find it for a decent price :) perfect fit and love my roof racks!

I got a used Thule 400XT but it didn't fit my 2006 Mazda 3 hatchback because the existing feet and clamps weren't the right shape. After searching around a little bit I found this fit kit and crossed my fingers. Turned out Thule knows what they're doing! It was super easy to change out the old fit kit parts and replace them with the new ones from the fit kit.Mounting directions were short and crystal clear. Installation was easy and feels solid as a rock! The feet and clamps exactly form to the roof edges of the car to provide that rock solid feel and reassurance. I have had no qualms about throwing several SUP boards up there, a desk in cardboard packaging, etc.Now to get rid of my rear mounted bike rack and get them up on this solid roof rack too! Thanks for doing a great job with this kit Thule, you've really made transporting my toys around a lot less hassle.

I ordered the fit kit for a Thule mounting system I purchased in '87 to carry a canoe on a long gone Chevy Celebrity. Remembered that I had the old system hanging in garage and looked up the 'fit kit' so I could carry a canoe on a Toyota Corolla. The fit kit was perfect but not much distance between the bars to mount a 17 1/2' canoe and haul from IN to MN for my annual canoe trip. The kit fit the old bars perfectly and went on the gas sipping Corolla w/ ease, But I'll be mounting the canoe on my wife's pick up truck. I'll mount one of my solos on the Corolla using the Thule system to paddle one of near by reservoirs or river. Thule still seems to be a quality product.

Adapting an existing Thule rack system to a new vehicle is easy with the custom Fit Kit that is model-specific. So glad Thule still offers the Fit Kit for my 2006 Honda Accord. All I have to do is replace the custom pads and brackets attached to my existing Thule feet with this replacement set, and my rack system is ready to go back on my new car with a perfect fit.The Fit Kit is a great product to buy if you have access to someone else's rack setup, too, OR if you have more than one car. Just switch the pads and brackets and your rack system is ready to go! No need to buy another set of bars and feet as long as the bars are long enough to span the roof of your car.

Overall this system works very well. Understand there are 4 brackets that look very similar. There are actually three different parts. One for front left, one for front right, and the other two are identical for the back bar. Easiest install is with two people so you don't have to play tug and war and not pull the foot pad out of place. The 400XT system once you have tighten the feet down and locked in place. Drive around, best with a load on top for a few hours and check to see if it loosed up. If it has, tighten so it's snug. The new Rapid Aero Foot system has a Torque indicator built in the clamp system to tell you when it's tight enough to eliminate that step as well as not to over tighten system and not bend the bracket. Most likely depending on the aerodynamics of your car, I would recommend an Air Foil. Make sure it's the size for your vehicle/bar length. If your using longer bars than recommended, go with the wider fairing.

Ordered the Thule Fit Kit for my 2000 Mercedes E430 Sport. Had a little trouble getting the kit installed w/ the Thule RB47 Rapid Aero Aluminum Roof Rack Load Bars and Thule 400XTR Aero Rapid Roof Rack Foot Pack, it was a bit of a struggle getting the screws locked in, since I was performing the install directly on the car roof. Once I took all the pieces off, connected the fit kit to the load bars and fit kit off of the car and then loaded all the pieces together it worked. I need to buy the Thule skirt so that it blocks out the wind noise while driving. While driving there are no issues - at around 75-80mph I had no issues.
