Thule test center: carriers & racks

Quality you can rely on

We’ll never know what adventures you’ll be taking your equipment on. That’s why we develop our products to manage any weather, any temperature, and any terrain in the whole world. We’ve come to the conclusion that nothing else will do. Every new product is put through temperatures of icy northern cold and burning desert heat, long sessions of intensive UV radiation, a salt chamber for corrosion endurance, several pressure and capacity tests – and finally a machine that shakes it for a lifetime’s worth, simulating two trips around the world in less than a week. Yes, the Thule Test Center is kind of brutal. But that’s the way the world is. And since we only give the sign of approval to products that have had the whole world against them (and survived it), it’s no wonder we’re international leaders in safety and durability – or that we even exceed the standards.

I added this to the Thule RacTrac on my 2005 Tacoma. Will enable me to haul longer lumber, etc. also will be nice to haul the canoe. Really strong and well engineered

Over all it gets the job done. But for what one pays for this unit, it should come with proper length bolts/fasteners, and egg horn nuts that cover the threads

I love it and it looks really good. It's great looking and I already used it three times and I was able to carry a 16 feet lumber ( 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 ) and tied them down very easily.

Box came with no botls, screws, nuts or washers. How am I supposed to assemble this? Is this a joke? It arrives late and with no hardware.

Took less than 2 hours to install. That includes taking ladders off taking off the old saddles, installing the cantilever, putting ladders back on, everything. The reduction in price from over 300 to under 300 motivated me to buy. Looks good. I agree with another review that some bolts are too long. Not a big deal. Much needed.

have the trac rac system and was impressed. this is overpriced compared to the rack system. brackets are heavy duty but the hardware was cheesy . The bolts that hold the cross bar to the side arms are 3/8” too long so you have 3/8 threads exposed and looks like it was a DIY fix not factory like most of thules products . on a 2017 2500 silverado double cab std bed, these bolts protrude close enough to where passengers get in i am going to cap the exposed threads to avoid an injury. a cap screws into a capture nut in the t slot would have been a better design and i will be replacing once i get the hardware. Intergrates nice with the track rack system, but if your installling on an existing system be warned that this uses its own top brackets so you will need to disasssemble your existing front rack to install.
