High-Trans Titanium Filters have very high transmissive properties utilizing multicoatings and a Titanium oxide component. These filters are mounted in a light weight metal ring with a matte black anti reflective inner ring and a Titanium finnish outer ring to identify the titanium oxide componenet in the filter. The new coatings for this filter increases hardness and reduces the suceptibility to smearing.

Good filter. Comes with a nice pouch, although, if you have a few it will quickly take up room in your storage.

I have not used it very often but when I have done the results were very impressive especially in strong sunlight.While it is not a necessary piece of equipment it is nonetheless a valuable one.

OK, first off I purchased the 82mm version of this filter, but I am writing the review here since there isn't an 82mm page on Amazon. Well, here is my experience. Tiffen is marketing their new HT filters as being scratch resistant and having military grade durability. When I took mine out of the box - there were nicks in the grooves of the filter ring. These made it not only difficult to screw into my polarizer, but also scratched the metal on my polarizer and lense as well. It also made it very difficult to clean. And it is really easy to get fingerprints on the filter. That brings me to my next point.The first time I put a micro-fiber cloth on the filter - it noticeably scratched it! I was cleaning other brands filters with the same cloth - no problem, but with Tiffen's ultra durable state of the art new filter - it scratches immediately. What a joke. I contacted Tiffen and they apologized and I sent it back to the store I bought if from so I never actually got to try it out. I am sure you can understand I wasn't going to get a replacement. It already had cost me like $15 in s/h for that darn filter. I mean what pathetic quality control and they are selling these things for like $300 on their website. Based on my experience I would stear clear. Save your time, save your money and save the potential headache.
