Put it over a hole on the top side of my muffler with an old license plate on top with a clamp around it and it seems to have worked.

Definitely worth the money, I bought 2 knowing how these things go. Two is one, one is none.I put the first package on my exhaust pipe, with nothing to keep it from unraveling. Followed the curing instructions and it didn't hold for a 5 mile trip. So I tore it all off and tried again.I put the second on in two pieces which is much Much easier. I put three stainless plumbing c clamps to hold it together (I'm classy like that) Worked like a charm. It's still on after two weeks and has silenced the leak.In summation- worth it, get two, make sure you clamp the stuff down. 10/10

Heated muffler, wrapped as per instructions, left car running to help heat it up further. The adhesive wasn't strong enough to stay attached - drove for a while to heat it up further and eventually it just fell off...

I tend to read one star reviews with a healthy dose of skepticism. If a product marginally performs its intended function, it should get two or more stars. Thus the one star rating I am posting here. I followed the instructions, used a heat gun to pre-heat the wrap while on the pipe then took it out for a half hour drive. At the end of the drive the wrap was kind of flakey and flimsy, I could basically spin it around the pipe. Absolutely no adhesion, thus a total failure. I'll probably put an exhaust pipe clamp over it and that should do the trick, but as a standalone product this was trash.

This product has been incredible and totally fixed my problem. I had some small holes on the straight pipe in front of the muffler. I lightly sanded the pipe, then wrapped the product around the pipe and held it in place with extra masking tape I already had. I put this on 2 months ago and everything is perfect about the fix. I totally recommend this product because it's very easy to use and highly effective.About 10 years ago I used a similar product for the car I had at the time, it was more like aluminum foil . This was a plasticky kind of product with webbing mesh in it, this seems to add much more strength than the aluminum foil like product and I'm expecting more longevity out of this product.

Update: be sure to check if the exhaust pipe is fixable. A really rusted out pipe might need replacement. The tape will only work as long as the pipe holds up.This muffler tape did exactly what I was supposed to do. It was fairly simple to work with and I had my cracked muffler repaired in just a few minutes. The instructions were a little sparse and you should know that once you run the car for 20 minutes or so after the tables been applied it heats up and gets more solid. I wrapped mine with some simple twine has the instructions indicated and left that on there to essentially burn away. I’m not sure if that was the manufactures intention but it worked OK. Now are crappy minivan doesn’t sound quite as crappy.

This came with a much longer piece than I expected, and the repair tape worked very well to seal a split in my manifold. The exhaust smell is completely gone after using this tape. THAT SAID, it is very difficult to apply, and you really need to read the instructions carefully. For example, in addition to the brown paper, you also need to remove the VERY thin clear plastic from BOTH SIDES of the tape as well. I screwed this up the first time and wasted part of the tape. Wearing gloves, it was very difficult to remove this thin film, and without gloves it's messy. Also, the tape doesn't stretch, and it's just sticky enough to barely stick to itself, so you might have to heat the pipe after you apply the tape (by turning on the car), and fiddle with it to make sure it is sticking/staying in place. So in short, it's damn frustrating, but it works damn well.
