The stand is a tad smaller than I'd realized, but it's a good size for most cookbooks. Joy of cooking might be a squeeze, however. Packaging could be improved. It was shipped in a thin cardboard box. No protection. I wonder how lucky I was that it arrived undamaged. The material is exactly as pictured. Nice walnut. Well crafted. The parts fit snugly. I do wish the edges were rounded a bit and that a finish coat had been applied though. Kitchen spills happen and I don't know how well sealed this is. But, that's easily remedied if I care enough to do something about it.But, I'm quibbling. It's a nice cookbook stand that won't take up much space when it's disassembled and not in use. My OH will appreciate it very much, I'm sure.

I was skeptical when ordering this as I was unsure it would be actual real wood for the price point. It is and it is nice. I don't plan on using it for books, but as a large plat stand and it is perfect for that.

If there is one thing I hate, it's losing track of my recipes when I'm in the kitchen. The cookbook closes, I can't remember where I put the printout, whatever. It drives me crazy.Well, this simple, effective book stand from Tilisma saves the day. It's made from two flat pieces of wood that lock together into a stand that will hold your cookbook, paper, note card, or tablet. Bestbof all, it's super easy to store when not in use and doesn't take up a lot of space. Comes in a nice walnut stain.Look, it ain't fancy, but it works really well and saves my kitchen nightmares for the actual food, not finding where in the hell I put that recipe! It's a definite buy for me.

I use my iPad to save recipes, so when I’m cooking, I’m always trying to make it stand up, so I can read it easily. This stand is exactly what I needed! The simple design, along with quality craftsmanship, make it fit together snugly, but not too tightly. I’m not sure if it’s actually made of walnut, but it looks very nice. I’m hoping to get many years of use from it

Fits together very simply and easily. The only thing you need to remember so you don't put it together backwards is that the bottom / base has a cut that will slant inward so it sits flush with a flat surface like a countertop. The wood is nice and rich in color, has a beautiful grain, looks like zebrawood, and also is well sanded to a very nice smooth surface. It seems to be unvarnished, but it may have a satin coat if anything at all. It is matte, but I feel it should be matte, that was my expectation. Very easy to assemble and easy to use. Fits almost all of my cook books with the exception of the larger very thick ones. I got this for my own kitchen, but I could see this being an asset to people who stage homes for sale. It has a very modern yet homey feel to it.

First of all, this book stand consists of 2 wood pieces, which were just cut into a shape each, but with no surface finish. These wood pieces still have fine burrs, which normally would have been sanded to make the surface smooth.Nonetheless, I assembled them and put different sizes of books.Unfortunately, this stand works only for book of certain size and thickness ranges. Also, it wobbles slightly. This book stand has a big room for improvement, I must say.On the other hand, I tried it with a plate, it just works fine.I may just use it as a plate stand instead of a book stand.Thank you for letting me review this product.

This cookbook stand is both beautiful and super functional! The walnut wood gives it a classy, handmade feel that looks great on my kitchen counter. It holds my iPad and cookbooks perfectly, and I love that it keeps everything upright and hands-free while I’m cooking. It’s sturdy without being bulky, and folds away easily when I’m done. Honestly, such a simple thing, but it makes cooking way more enjoyable!
