Makes lifting logs off the ground simple, safe and a heck of a lot easier on your back. In photos I've just felled a hardwood tree that was dying. The pictured log is approx 14' long and is still green, meaning it's heavy. I'm 70 years old, have a bad back (two major surgeries) and this lumberjack made lifting the log easy for safe bucking. I've already cut the top 30' of the tree off. The lumberjack is relatively heavy but rolls easily with the included wheels. I've been cutting firewood for the past 40+ years and finally decided to splurge on a piece of equipment that would have made those 40 years a lot easier and safer. Would have saved me money on chain replacements too. Highly recommended.

Had a misalignment problem with the 1st one, as the toothed arm did not close straight (offset to the side). To the OEM's credit, they arranged shipment of a free replacement arm, and it fits perfectly now. (Print/keep your invoices.) The assembly was easy. It is heavy to carry any distance, but it works well. Like others, I wish it came with bigger/wider wheels, and a longer handle. But it has helped a 60-something year old avoid further shoulder damage. Would buy again.

Saved a lot of time in holding logs in position for bucking. Very sturdy, the only drawback is length of the handle, could be longer for better leverage. Also include the wheels as potential issue depending individual use. Soft soil they sink in, used mine without wheels without issue .

Assembly was ok as needed to file down a couple of burs left during the casting process.

GREAT log dog (that's what we always called em in Eastern KY)I opted for "used" because I'ma beat the hell out of it anyways. BUT.. a cpl pcs were missing. The peavey spike and support bar ( handle to wheel) were missing. But I think they feel out in shipping because the box was BEAT and had a few big whole in it.

I bought one of these about a year ago. I have use it to lift the ends of heavy logs so I can buck these logs. I would not be able to buck these logs without it. This timberjack is well made and heavy duty. I can not ask for more.

The product is remarkably clever. Mine was shipped with a part error (one wheel didn't fit properly) but I couldn't return it because I didn't open for several weeks after it was delivered. The folks listed on the literature were very polite but told me I had to prove that the wheels didn't match because their factory wouldn't believe them. Eventually, they very politely told me it would take a couple of weeks for replacement wheels to arrive. 6 very polite phone calls and 5 months later I bought replacement wheels at the local big box. The tool is well made otherwise and now works very well but the people who sell it simply will not assist you. I called last week to tell them how my review would read, but they didn't care enough to call back.

Works great ....it’s like having an assistant helping you cut logs to burn length. I cut about 3-6 trees a year ... size 6 inches to 20 inches. Only downside ... is bulky and takes a little time to set up.. but gives you a stable platform to saw logs.

I would have given this a 5 star, if it were not for the packaging. It arrived in a factory original box, but some parts were assembled, bolts were loose in the box ( they were all there ) and had scratches on it, as if were returned. The product itself is heavy duty, the wheels are a plus for this. Works well and is versatile with different uses.
