About this item

  • Single cone (inner ring) for connecting to compatible cups (outer rings, sold separately) to form a complete single tapered roller bearing
  • Supports both radial and axial loads between a rotating and non-rotating member
  • Operating temperatures range from -54 to 120 degrees C (-65 to 250 degrees F)
  • Stamped steel cage evenly spaces rollers for reduced friction, vibration, and noise
  • Open configuration for lubrication applied in place

This Timken LM11949 single cone with a stamped steel cage matches with a single cup (outer ring, sold separately) to assemble into a complete single tapered roller bearing, suitable for applications that support both radial and axial loads. The cone assembly does not contract or expand under operating temperatures ranging from -54 to 120 degrees C (-65 to 250 degrees F). Generally mounted in opposing pairs on a shaft to evenly distribute loads, this single cone is made of Timken's own high-alloy steel for durability, heat tolerance, and resistance to deformity under heavy loads. The stamped steel cage prevents rollers from coming into contact with each other during use, reducing friction, vibration, and noise. As part of a separable tapered roller bearing unit, this single cone assembly has an open design that allows for lubrication and accurate adjustments. This single tapered roller bearing is for use in high-load, moderate-speed applications that include automotive axle systems and conveyor systems in heavy duty industries such as mining, construction and agriculture, among many other applications.

Rolling bearings use rolling elements to maintain the separation between moving parts to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. These elements can be one of the following types: ball, cylindrical, spherical, barrel, needle, spindle, or tapered. All rolling bearings are open, shielded, or sealed. Sealed bearings are lubricated with oil or grease in the bearing factory, while open and shielded bearings are meant to be lubricated in place, with periodic reapplication of lubrication, based on use. The shield protects the working parts of the bearing from environmental debris that may be introduced and could reduce the ball bearing speed and lifespan. Rolling bearings are used in a range of applications from agricultural machinery to conveying equipment, robotics, dental equipment, elevators, rolling mills, ship rudder shafts, and aggregate crushers, among others.

The Timken Company manufactures a variety of bearings, alloy steels, and related components and assemblies that meet International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards for quality assurance. Founded in 1899, the Timken Company is based in Canton, Ohio.

Bearings were sent in a pad pack looking good on the outside but bearing boxes inside looked like the USPS driver rode around all day standing on them. That said, the bearings look undamaged at first glance, I will examine closer. The quality of these bearings are like no Chinese made items I have ever examined closely. I will certainly enjoy the new wheel bearings for my 1970 big block Camaro, even though Amazon thinks they do not fit the car they are now on. P.S. Amazon tracking showed 22 scans and not even 1 of these scans showed where the package was when they scaned it, not one. USPS tracking showed all cities where scans took place.

Tapered roller bearings are comprised of two separate parts. The “cone” with tapered rollers and the “race”.Two separate part numbers because the cone can be used with (or matched with) several races. Thick races, and various diameter races. The race and cone will always be marked with a part number. Many popular auto bearings are sold as a “set” with the cone and matching race for a particular application. such as set 13, set 6 , set 18

Bearings came without the races, cannot use without the race. How do I get them?
