11-22-24: Went to use today - DEAD - tried a fresh battery Dead . . . to badLove the portability - love that is stands flatOnly drawbacks I've noticed so far . . .A) There is either a phantom battery drain, or, the pumps consumes huge power. Completely drained a 2.0 Amp/hr battery (genuine DeWalt) after a less-than 20 second pump upB) Not an issue so far, but worried about the hose junction with the valve clamp . . . seems like it might fatigue after useC) Pressure gauge not accurate (34 psi closer to 37)

The Kuwzty tire pump was ordered for use with our Honda CRV.The pump was received and I immediately was impressed with the carrying case. It is moderately hard shell, and supplies good protection for the pump. A tire was tested for pressure, and the gauge showed the pressure to be at 32 pounds. So, the car needed to be brought up to 35 pounds. A DeWalt battery was set in place, the pump attached to the tire, and set at 35 pounds. The pump took about 3 minutes to come to 35 pounds, and during the last 1 minute of being engaged the pump seemed to labor to get to inflate the last 1 pound. The pump was not overly hot, but it did have to work hard.For a quick inflation for a tire showing some lower pressure, this pump will be OK. This is especially true during the winter when the electronic tire pressure indicator light comes on showing there a tire to have low pressure.There was one issue with the pump that was experienced during the testing process. The DeWalt battery did not want to attach securely to the pump. I had to apply some abnormally higher force to get it snapped in placed. The same was true when removing the battery from the pump. At first, I thought this was my error or that the battery was in some way defective. So, a 2nd battery was tested and the same thing happened with that battery. Both batteries have been used previously in other tools, so I know that they were good in terms of being easy to snap into place on a tool. Thus, it would appear there is a slight mis-alignment in the tool slot of some sort. Maybe it was just the pump that I received.BOTTOM LINE: The pump worked nicely when used to bring to pressure a tire up to an additional 3 pounds of pressure. There was an issue installing the battery. If there had not been the issue with the battery, then I would have rated the pump a "4", but with the issue of the battery, a rating star was reduced to a "3".

For households that have already invested in the very expensive DeWalt 20V battery system, it makes sense to get as much use out of it as possible and this handy air compressor is a very useful addition.Although the volume it pumps is small, and it will top up a car tire eventually, this compact compressor really shines for bike tires, inflatable play balls, and similar smaller volume objects.The ability to set a target pressure and then have the compressor stop when it reaches it is an excellent feature, as it prevents accidentally over filling a small bike tire if you don’t get your finger off the trigger fast enough. Additionally, a selection of inflator accessories is neatly stored on the front of the tool’s case, near the work light.The unit has a few oversights that I would improve. First, the lamp in the front of the housing is plenty bright and works great if you are in low light conditions, but it only illuminates when the unit is running. It’s of no use to see what you’re doing as you try to hook up the chuck adapter or find the proper inflation adapter. It should have a separate switch, so you can use it as a flashlight.Next, this unit comes in a beautiful zippered semi-hard case, but the case isn’t designed big enough to hold the unit with a battery attached to the tool, nor does it have space to fit the battery anywhere inside. So, I can carry the tool nicely protected in the car, but the battery has to be carried separately.Lastly, the instruction sheet is sparse and not very useful. It does not explain the function of the trigger or even mention it at all. This is especially important, as once the tool goes to “sleep” and you want to use it again, pulling the trigger does not make it come on. Nowhere do they tell you that you first must press the (very tiny) “Unit” button to wake the tool, before the trigger becomes active again.So, with better instructions, a place to fit the battery in the case, and maybe designing the trigger so that if you depress it half-way the work light comes on, this hand little compressor would be more user friendly.As is, it does give me another use for my expensive DeWalt batteries and inflates all my typical household devices.
