This product is handsome, well made and simple to use. It is made of sturdy solid brass, with a rubber protective covering surrounding the gauge and also serving as a handle when using the product. The part that attaches to the tire swivels, so not matter the angle of the air stem, you will be able to use this gauge without difficulty. I noticed that one must take a bit of care to be sure the the part that you press onto the tire valve to the tire is full seated, otherwise it is possible to get an incorrect reading. One star off for this, but it not not reflect on the inherent utility and quality of the unit itself. This is a well made piece of machinery and should with any normal care last for years.

So, I will start with, I know basically nothing when it comes to most things related to cars, but one of the things that I do know is how to check my tire pressure! For years I have used the pen type tire pressure gauges which, I have thought, have been fairly accurate. Admittedly I have had to buy many of them over the years because they do have a tendency to fail after a short period of time, but I continued to use them because I just stuck with what I knew. Recently though, I took my car to my mechanic for an oil change and tire rotation and he informed me that my tire pressure was only at 26 PSI when it should have been at 32 PSI. I had recently checked my tire pressure prior to bringing my car in because my sensor was lit telling me the pressure was off, but the little pen gauge said it was fine...ummm, not so much. This is why I decided it was time to get a new tire pressure gauge. When I saw this one it looked like it was better quality than those pen ones so I ordered it. When it arrived I was VERY IMPRESSED at how well it is made. The design is actually fairly ergonomically friendly because it fits firmly in your hand and is easy to use. I thought it might be difficult to attach to the valve stem on my wheels because they always seem to be in the most awkward spot when I am trying to check the pressure, but because this gauge has a rotating head, it makes attachment to the stem seamless. The numbers are also really easy to read even without wearing my reading glasses and it glows in the dark if you need to get a reading in a dim or dark location. I also appreciate that this gauge actually holds the pressure in it to give you the reading so you don't have to keep it seated on the valve the entire time you are trying to read the PSI. It took me a minute though to realize that you have to push the button to release the pressure to do your next reading...duh! I cannot say much about the technical features of this gauge because I am clueless to all of that, but I will say that I really like it and it works very well for someone like me who knows nothing about cars. It is a great product overall and a great item to store in your vehicle for routine or emergency use and I am very happy that I have it!

There is a thick rubbery cover over the dial to protect it from damage.It kind of looks like a "paddle wheel" tire and I don't know if that is what they are going for as a design feature or not.Either way, it gets caught in my pocket and pokes my hand when I use it as intended.The grooves also collect lint and dirt and are hard to keep clean.I considered cutting it off, but there would be nothing to cover the glass and sides to keep it from getting scratched up otherwise.I may take a knife or diagonal and try to cut down the grooves smooth to make it work better for me.Aside from the odd cover, the functionality is good and tire pressure measurements are accurate compared to other digital and dial tire gauges I have.Value was decent for me at 7 bucks at the end of the day.
