Installation is easy enough and the built-in solar panel to recharge the internal battery is genius. The sensors work well once they communicate with the base station - something that took several miles of driving to get them to wake up. The lock nuts are very thin, but stronger than the wrench which is meant to nip them up. The jaws bent open a shade before I'd installed all four sensors, so I had to find a small wrench to complete the work.

I have tried out this TPMS on a 200 mile trip in my 2002 Chevy Suburban. It worked quite well, showing the increase in temperature and pressure as we drove along. I had plans to eventually use this unit on the tires of the 35 foot travel trailer that we often tow with the Suburban. I was concerned about weather the base unit could pick up the signals from the sensors on the tires of the trailer when the base unit is about 30 feet away in the tow vehicle. So I did some range testing and it does seem to pick up those signals from at least 50 feet away. After that testing and seeing how well this worked, and because of the very reasonable price of this unit compared to the hundreds of dollars for name brand TPMS, I decided to leave this unit on my Suburban and I ordered a second unit to install on our travel trailer. That way all eight tires will be monitored when we are traveling. It would be nice if the instructions explained better how to set it up. But with a little experimentation I was able to get it working. I guess that the makers of these low cost products figure that very few people read instruction anyway to why waist the time and paper to print them up. They are probably correct.
