It is heavier than my 40lb ball, 15lbs more to be precise.

Seems too be high quality, I have had it for over a month and use 3-5 times a week, it does get a little slick once you work up a sweat.

I'm six over six feet and drop it over my head and it hasn't split open yet. Great workout product if you ask me.

I purchased one of these in 55 lbs. in order to try it out. I didn't want a ball that would bounce when it hits the floor, I wanted something similar to an Atlas Stone / a dead weight ball to be used for long carries, clean and press (then drop it without bouncing), and weighted squats / functional movements. I was very happy to find that the ball doesn't bounce and can hit a concrete floor from full extension without causing any damage at all. I then ordered 6 more balls (35 & 25 pounders) in lighter weight for my classes which were equally satisfying. The price was discounted on AMAZON and free PRIME shipping....excellent deal for the purpose I described.

What an awesome purchase from an awesome company.First, the company. I bought this on a Tuesday and it showed up on a Wednesday without me having selected one-day shipping. I sent them an email asking if I had made a mistake, and saying thanks. They said they just like to ship things quickly! Pretty fantastic for a 55lb slam ball to show up the next day.Now - on to the ball. I've used slam balls before and have a pretty good idea of what they are good for (slams/other odd object stuff) and what they are not good for (anything involving a bounce/juggling). What I like particularly about this brand is that it seems to be sand-filled, at least somewhat, which means when you slam it, there is really NO bounce. Not even a little. Despite the rubber itself feeling less durable than others, the sand itself allows it to pancake more (but not so much to be a problem) and then rebound into a basically round shape.I bought this to use as part of my jiu jitsu training, so I'm not so worried about how easy it is to handle compared to other balls. In fact, one thing I like about the construction is that you can (at least with the 55lb ball) grab it as if it had handles with a pinch grip. With others, you have to scoop your hands all the way under the ball. This ball allows me to do either, should I wish, but the pinch grip is going to be fantastic for my grip strength, and grip strength = durability = longevity in life and sport. This is honestly the best purchase I've made on Amazon in a long time. Buy one.
