TL;DR Good for occasional use. They are not as hefty as professional-grade tools, but more than good enough for occasional use.I had to balance the rating of this against professional-grade tools that you would use daily as a professional. These are not quite to that level, but are more than adequate for occasional use if you are doing CV work at home or need a hose clamp plier.The metal is a bit thin on most of the tools compared to what I am used to using. The trim pry bar seems adequate enough. and the cv piers seem more stout than the other tools.Personally, I would not use the cotton-type gloves they include for working on a car.If you are not using the tools often and have them in your toolbox, the case that is included is a good way to keep them organized.Overall, good for the home mechanic.

Very nice case keeping the set organized. I have only needed to use the clamp tool that is for smooth band clamps. It would not catch on the raised area to compress and squeeze it completing the seal. I dug my 30 year old KD clamp tool that has been used hundreds of times and it did the job easily. On inspection I realized what was wrong. A quick modification using a file on the clamping teeth creating a bevel to the inside and it worked perfectly on the second band clamp. The edge of the plier that should grip and compress the band was just too large causing it to slip. The band roller clamp tool works as it should with band-it style clamps on high pressure air hoses but is easier to hold than a standard band-it tool because it has a handle. I also tried the push-rivet remover on a Suzuki ATV where all the plastic fenders are held in place with push-rivets. It works fine as long as you start the center pin with a small flat screw driver. I have not used the hose clamp pliers but inspected it closely noting that the groove appears to be just the size and shape for what was used on coolant hoses on many years of automobiles. I don’t foresee the need to modify any of the other tools.

There are some real winners in this set that I KNOW I've needed (and made do without) many a time. The two primary ones are the hose clamp remover and the trim panel remover. I am extremely happy to have these on hand now. The tools feel slightly on the cheap side, but I would say still solid considering the price. On the CV joint clamp tool, the little red rubber pieces easily come off the rods, which is a little annoying (I might have to glue them on to keep them from slipping off). Otherwise, the rubber handles seem to be well attached to the tools. I'm still pleased with this set if nothing else than because of those two extremely useful tools.

I ordered this tool set since I have been doing more and more front end work on our cars. This has several pliers that will come in very handy. The CV pliers is great and fits the clamp very well. I also have tried the hose clamp pliers and it works great. The jaws keep the clamp in the cups nicely so the pliers does not slip off the clamp. The tools are help in the nice case by stretchy bands but they could be just a little bit bigger as some of the tools are hard to get in and out of the case. I am very happy with this kit and will use it frequently in the very near future. The tools are very nice quality and very sturdy, I like the rubber grips so you don't slip while using them. I would order this again and recommend it to others.

I used these crimpers to install a couple of CV boot clamps and they worked great. They feel sturdy in hand and gave a nice, tight crimp without much effort. I also tried the tools on a few small hose clamps and they handled those just as well. The tools made both jobs quicker and the finished clamps looked clean and secure. Definitely a handy tool set to have if you’re doing any axle, boot, or hose work.

The trim removal tool is an ok one. Works on a couple specific clips on my Subaru best but the v slotted ones are better universal tools. I have not had a CV boot to replace so these will go in my box for now. Good to have if you have ever done one of these without the tools. If the even remotely work, it's well worth what the tool set costs in frustration and time (if you know, you know). The hose clamp pliers are actually nice. The stay put on the clamp and work fine. Grips get a little slick with antifreeze but so does pretty much everything. I wish the small clamp pliers had a position lock but I was working with a hard to get fitting. Not an issue with most of what I would get into. It's a decent and low cost kit. Great to have around for the shade tree/home mechanic. I would go with a little better quality if you do it professionally or work on heavy equiment.
