I work in construction and do a bit of woodworking for fun, and this is a great little set for the price! Nice variety and good for tight spaces. Not the highest quality set I own, but they function well.

If you're looking for a really nice inexpensive set of punches and cold chisels then this has got you covered. In the set you get Cold Chisels , Taper , Pin and Center Punch. These have a rubberized handle for good grip and they have a n nice large hand protector on each so if you miss with the hammer your hand doesn't pay the price. You cant beat this large set for such a good price.

As with any tool, these have their good points and bad points. They definitely have their use, but I would not want them as my only set of chisels.=== The Good Stuff ===* I own a few sets of chisels, and these are by far the smallest. While that is a bit problematic, it has already come in handy when working in a tight space.* There is a nice assortment of sizes, although I usually reach for a size larger than the largest one in the kit.=== The Not-So-Good Stuff ===* My first attempt at knocking off mortar resulted in a bit of "mushrooming" of the chisel. Not a good sign, being that I have a set of cold-chisels that is older than I am and is reground every 25 years or so.* The small size is problematic if you have medium to large hands, and if you are taking some serious hammer swings. Just not enough room to keep your hands clear.* Make sure you have gloves and a sharp knife to get these things out of the package!=== Summary ===If you rely on chisels a lot, these are probably not going to last you very long. However, they make a fine addition to your "chisel arsenal", especially for work in tight or restricted spaces and where maximum hammer swing isn't the over-riding concern. I will keep them in my tool kit for just such situations.

This is an everyday set of chisels and punches suitable for light duty household use. The quality level is comparable to a big box tool discount import store: they're noticeably "entry level" chisels, with a black coating on the metal that easily shows wear and molded handles that are comfortable but not made of premium materials.They come in a simple display card without a case or storage pouch, and I ended up just tossing them in a plastic bin as no other storage solution made sense.Functionally, these seem to work fine, and I've used them on a few projects successfully so far. The biggest shortcoming is literal: they're really short, with the handle and chisel/punch being better suited for close-in precision work, and your hand sometimes being a little too close to the material you're working on as a result.I would have liked to see at least another inch or two in length, plus a display case, for these to be five stars. They're acceptable in a pinch, but at the price, I'll admit I expected a little more.

I ordered this 9-piece punch and chisel set for my workshop. Chisels and punches are versatile hand tools used in construction, metalworking, woodworking, and various other fields. Several features attracted me to this product.First and foremost, this punch and chisel set offers the diversity needed to tackle different tasks and applications. The two cold chisels are designed for cutting and shaping cold metal, masonry, and other hard materials. The center punch is used to create a small indentation on a surface—typically metal—to provide a precise starting point for drilling. The taper punches are mainly for driving out and installing pins and shafts, as well as aligning holes in metal pieces before bolting or riveting. The pin punches are utilized to drive out pins, bolts, or rivets from a hole after another punch has partially loosened them. Finally, the cape chisel (also known as a slot chisel) is a specialized cold chisel used for cutting narrow grooves and slots in metal or stone.Second, each chisel and punch features an integrated hand guard. If you have ever accidentally struck your hand while chiseling, you can appreciate how important this feature is.Third, HRC, or Rockwell Hardness Scale C, is a method for measuring the hardness of materials, particularly steel, using a diamond cone indenter. A higher HRC number indicates a harder material, which resists indentation and maintains its edge better. A Rockwell hardness rating of 58-60 strikes a good balance between sharpness and durability. It's important to note that steel that is too soft can dull quickly, while steel that is too hard may become brittle.So far, my experience with this punch and chisel set has been positive, and I have no complaints except that it would have been nice if the manufacturer had provided a case for storage and transport. I ordered a separate heavy-duty tool bag to address that need. Overall, this is a very nice set, and I believe other buyers will have a similarly positive experience.

I have a couple of cold chisels inherited from my father. Those are much larger than any in the new set. I used the old ones, and a brick-set, many times on brick, stone and concrete. Though the ad gives the actual measurements, I just assumed they would be of similar size to what I have.The hand-guard grips are a good feature - but the guard top might not offer much protection for a larger (man's), hand. I'll have to be careful not to let any part of my fist get above the guard, as that could be worse than no guard at all.The smaller punches might be surprisingly strong. However, I'd be very warry of striking them at anything other than a 90-degree angle: they are very thin.Another concern is the packaging of the set. You know the type: you have to cut around the edges with heavy scissors to get at the product. Once you do, the package is useless for storing the items. Of course, they do this so that the package can't be opened in a retail display. A simple canvas storage pouch would be a very welcome alternative.
