If you need something pounded, get this to go to pound town. Need to pound a rod in the ground, this will pound the rod. I also use it for pushing rebar into the ground. So its not just for ground rods but any rod. Good solid product. Really makes you question how much the other people rip you off

Make sure that before ordering this tool, that you make sure that your hammer drill is a SDS MAX and not a SDS or SDS Plus. Where the SDS and the SDS Plus are compatible with each other, the SDS MAX is not. It is much larger than the other two and will not fit. This error was totally my mistake. I made the assumption that MAX was just another version of standard SDS, just like the plus is and when this tool showed up, I saw the error of my ways. The tool does appear to be of high quality and when I need it in the spring, I will determine if to buy or rent a SDS MAX drill but until then ...

I recently purchased the SDS ground rod driver, and I’m really impressed with its performance. Made from high-grade forged steel, this driver is exceptionally strong and durable. The thick, hard steel material ensures that it won’t easily be damaged, providing a long lifespan for the tool. It effectively drives fence posts and grounding rods into the ground without any hassle. The specifications are just right for my needs. At 10 inches long, with an inner diameter of 18 mm and an outer diameter of 32 mm, it fits perfectly for all grounding tasks. Keep in mind this is for SDS Max drills, not SDS plus. I didn't realize this when I got it and ended up need an adapter to use it on my drill. One of the most significant advantages of this ground rod driver is how much time and energy it saves. It speeds up the whole process of driving posts significantly, making it easy to operate without putting strain on my thumb or back. Previously, I would have to use a hammer, which was tedious, but now this tool has eliminated that need entirely. Moreover, it’s versatile enough to be used for driving almost any type of material, not just ground rods. I’ve utilized it for installing fences, grills, parking bumpers, and even solar panel mounts. It’s become an essential tool in my toolkit.Overall, the SDS ground rod driver is a reliable and effective solution for anyone looking to make their grounding and installation tasks easier and more efficient. Highly recommended!

Heavy and solid. Should work but haven't stress tested it yet. Unless there's a fault in the metal it will work fine. Will update if it fails

This driver is a beast! It will very likely outlive me. The construction is built to last and can take all day action. I use it for rebar when I drive rebar through pressure treated wood into the ground. You will never need to buy another one.

I've driven more than a few ground rods in my time, and it is definitely no fun. Whether you try to drive the rod in with a sledge hammer, or with a manual t-post driver or by using a bottle of water (check out some videos on that last approach - it is pretty amazing), it is a task that can leave you pretty worn out. And if you have the misfortune of driving into rocky soil, it's a task that can really spoil your day.Using an SDS rotary hammer drill takes a whole lot of suffering out of the task. This driver attachment is a simple tool, but it really helps you get the job done. Once you get this tool and try driving a ground rod in with it, you'll wonder why you waited so long to get one. It's cheap and worth its weight in gold!

This seems like a very well made SDS-MAX ground rod driver. The cup at the end is 3/4 inch in diameter and 2.25 inches deep. The shank is 18mm in diameter or about 3/4 of an inch which is the standard for SDS-MAX. It has a very good fit and finish.I have not gotten to use this because although I have used power tools and drill for years, I recently just got my first SDS hammer drill. Although very similar in design, SDS and SDS-Plus bits and attachments have a 10mm or about 3/8 diameter shank where the SDS-MAX like this one have a much larger 18mm or about 3/4 inch diameter shank and will not fit in a SDS-Plus drill chuck. Live and learn. I ordered another one for my SDS-Plus drill and I have a friend who has a MAX setup so this one will have a home.

A very heavy tool. But, it should be for what you ask it to do. It fits my drill motor as it should and will just beat rebar or a ground rod to death. Seriously, all I had to experiment with was a short piece of rebar, so I can't give much other than a small test. But it wasted no time pushing it into an old rail-road tie.A friend is needing to drive a ground rod, so I am going to let him borrow this. Once it is in his possession, I will tell him I did my part...LOLBut I am sure it will have zero issue pushing it into the ground. I will be giving this a workout this spring when the wife wants those ties in place.
