I got a whiff that something wasn't right as soon as I plugged it in, but when I connected a battery, smoke started streaming out. It is obviously defective; I will still try another one.

I purchased one similar to this from another seller and it was so awful, I was hesitant to buy this one. The battery terminals of the other one were so loose fitting that it made charging very finicky. Had to be positioned just right to charge, and if you move it ever so slightly, it stopped charging. But not this one. The terminals went in deeper and was a very snug fit. Works well and as advertised. A++ from this consumer!

I got the replacement in the mail today and this one works well. This 5 port Top Race charger is for the small 1S batteries only. I have a few 1S batteries for the micro drones and this charger is just right for charging those batteries. The LED indicators line up with each charging port. They are bold red when the battery needs a lot of charge and as they get closer to being fully charged the LED for that port starts blinking and it is time to remove the battery so it does not get overcharged. Confirm the type of connector on your battery matches the connector on the battery end of the cable.
