It will also not work with slide out A/C units. The Top Shelf A/C Bracket needs 10” of clearance below the window. It also requires a minimum wall thickness of 6" and maximum wall thickness of 12". The dimension is taken from the inside lower window frame to the exterior sill or ledge if one exists. Always measure the window you intend to use to verify the Top Shelf A/C Bracket will accommodate your window. This took me only about 5 minutes to put together, and another 5 to 10 minutes to figure out the correct position to set the legs in my window. I would have given this five stars, but I don't like how slick to finish is. My AC unit was sliding all over the place so I had to put some double-sided tape to hold it in place. Other than that it's a great product and very very easy to put together with no tools needed.

Well made , fastenes to the inside part of the window .So i know the ac won't fall from the upstairs window , like my first air conditioner did .Very easy to adjust in or out

I live in a colonial four Square built in 1912 with original double hung windows. I have very wide heavy trim casings on the interior around the windows. This product did not work with the layout of my existing windows. It would only work for more 60s or newer trim casing that’s really just 3/8 of an inch crown or clamshell moldings.

If your air conditioner has a mostly flat bottom this works wonderfully. So easy to install and I don’t have to juggle a 50 lb air conditioner trying to set it on my window sill. This is my second one. The ac I put on this one has a 3/4 sq bar on the bottom to tip it for drainage so I had to play around with this to make it fit. At the end of the summer I might grind the bar off the ac so I can use it flat. The bracket is so easy to set up for drainage and secure to window without screws. I’m a 5 foot 5 inch 70 year old woman so it shouldn’t give most people trouble.

Just installed this so first impressions……. Very well packaged which gives a good first impression. Solid hardware and very easy to install. No tools needed. Nice design such that channel in frame allows for that piece on the underside of most window ac’s to fit in nicely. Those expandable accordion things on the sides of the ac never really fit my windows and they still don’t so a little heads up there. I didn’t expect them to fit so not disappointed. Overall really well built and happy with the purchase.

We've used a window AC unit without a bracket like this for years. We recently had all of windows replaced with vinyl windows and they are different in a way that isn't conducive to window AC units. They have 2 strips along the bottom to seal against the sash... they are not strong enough to support the AC unit.This bracket fit the window perfectly. I used a wooden block to lift it slightly so those seals weren't bearing the weight. The bracket itself also transfers force that would otherwise be born by the sash.Overall I think these are a great product to solve my problem with the vinyl windows.Update: removed the window unit after the summer. The bracket held up very well; not a have of rust. I'm very pleased with this product.

Comparing to other AC support we bought (which are not cheap either), this is very (unbelievably) easy to put together and adjust to the level needed. The groove designed fits our new Danby AC's feet perfectly.Would have given a 5 star if those welding points are smoother--these rough dents make it look cheap, even though may not impact its function.

I bought this for my ancient 80lb behemoth AC unit which has been precariously dangling out of my apartment window for years without any support. The stand went together super quick - in fact, I had to double check myself twice to make sure it really was that straightforward.It took a lot of back-and-forth to get the right angle for the AC (tilted ever so slightly back toward the outside, to prevent drips indoors). The bracket is super sturdy and supports the weight of my AC without issue. A nice bonus is that the bracket decouples the AC from the window frame itself, which cuts down on resonance and noise when it’s in use. Thank god!!This thing is expensive to be sure, but totally worth it. I would recommend to anybody on the fence about this to just buy it for peace of mind, if nothing else.

I live in a Mobile Home with horizontal sliding windows and barely even ledge to make this work, I have a 12000BTU A.C. and needed it to be secure without drilling into the outside of the house, I measured the windows where I wanted it installed and cut boards to fit into the window grooves along with cutting the opening for the A.C. and placing 2×2's on both ends and securing the boards to them, the front of the Air conditioner bracket has a groove and that is on the inside wall with the little feet of the A.C inside to hold it along with a 2×2 drilled into the board on top where the A.C. curtain would slide in to, and the back needed to be adjusted very close to the last 5 settings for support, with the A.C in place I made sure that it was tilted a bit downwards for condensation to run down, So Yes This will work for sliding windows and a little configuration.

UPDATE: Third year of use. Still absolutely love this product. It is super easy, super adjustable. I'm about to buy another cause new A/C came with an included shelf/bracket like this custom made for the unit. It is junk and I'm throwing it out. I slid this one back in place and all is good. Remember to buy yours in the fall when the prices are low. It is spring and the price is jacked up over $100.I take it down and store it each year. Another tip, mark the hole you used when you bring it in for the year cause you will likely store it compressed and hate to have to go through hanging out the window and readjusting to find the right hole.One more, some of these reviews complaining the adjustment pins don't line up with both sides. Ignore this. They are designed that way to allows more precision and less slippage. It will cost you a little on install and storage time but makes it fit oh so perfectly in most any window.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Engineer here. I really like the design of this product. I never thought this could be this easy. No tools needed, adjust to fit window with size adjustment holes and place it in the window. Placed A/C in place, super sturdy. Never had my A/C this well supported ever. Added one piece of insulation, far less then I usually add each year with adhoc supports. For all the different windows out there, this thing is really well designed to fit most. I don't expect it to be perfect as the task here is tough. BUY.

Great product. Works exactly as advertised. A few minutes to assemble. VERY well made. I had hoped that it would fit my window, which does have an opening just a tiny bit smaller than 24". ( I could not find anything comparable on the market to fit a smaller window so it was worth the risk for me). Sadly, I will be returning, but would buy a smaller size model in a heartbeat should Top Shelf produce one in the future.
