You know I didn’t catch any fish with this yet, but I’m sure I will. It’s just a matter of time and being in the right place at the right time. But boy sure is fun to cast and reel in.

This duck lure is like the loud comedian at the fishing lure party. It's definitely not what you expect, but hey, sometimes you gotta try something new! This thing casts a mile and comes in colors that would make a disco ball jealous. It also feels pretty tough, like it could handle a rogue catfish. Plus, it floats great, no worries about it sinking on you. Here's the catch (pun intended): there is a hook on top and bottom and i don't understand. The little spinning feet are a cool idea, but they don't always work as advertised and might not add much action. Another thing to watch out for is line twists because of the lure's action. A swivel might help, though.Overall, this lure is more of a fun conversation piece than a serious fishing tool. It might work for casual fishing, but serious anglers might want to stick with something more traditional.

I have been wanting to try using a duck lure in waters that have big fish like pike and musky as well as largemouth bass, since I know sadly that ducklings fall victim to those types of fish. I ordered this two pack of duck lures not really knowing what kind of quality to expect with these. I was expecting a soft body type lure but these have a hard plastic body. The paint and colors on them is nicely done and there is a large sharp treble hook with maribou feathers on the top and one on the bottom of each lure. There is a metal prong that you can secure the hook in, and the hook breaks free from the prong once a fish bites the lure. The eyelit is located under the duck's mouth to keep the lure down in the water for a more realistic swimming action. The feet swivel around on thick metal wire and are curved inwards a bit to help keep them rotating when being retreived in the water. I don't know how well the feet will hold up being bit by toothy critters like pike and musky since they are a soft flexible plastic. These lures are 4 3/4" long, the body is 1 1/8" wide and 2 3/4" wide at the feet. These duck lures have a hard body but I would think that some are designed with a softer body for a more realistic feel to a fish when it bites the lure. I have not tried these lures out yet so I can't comment on how well they swim in the water and if they attract fish but I expect they will work fine for enticing a large hungry fish to try and gulp one down. The plastic box they came in would be a good storage box for the lures but I cannot remove the sticky tape and sticker on it so they will go in a tackle box instead. The next time I order a duck lure I am going to get one with a softer body since the hard ones seem too rigid but that is probably because of all the teeth that will potentially be puncturing them!
