Works very well especially in tight places. I have been using these 1/4 ton Bravo chain hoist for years l love the way they operate.Good Quality also

Update: The second unit seized up today, after two summers of occasional use. Think of them as disposable baby hoists. The manufacturer refuses to stand behind his product, nevertheless they are handy to have.This is my second unit, it works well enough for occasional use, but not everyday use. The main problem is a lack of good bearings in the spool, it's metal on metal and after a few hundred uses will start to splinter and wear. I contacted the manufacturer about the problem but was ignored. Since I don't use the unit every day, it seemed reasonable to just buy another one since they cost is reasonable.Note also the lift chain is short, but it's easy to buy a much longer chain that fits and works well, from a third party. The new chain can be fed in if the hook is removed (easy to do), and without disassembly of the unit.

Forward and reverse change easily, plenty of gear reduction for the seemingly short lever arm. Used to install and recover 10hp submersible pump.

Excellent handy hoist for light duty tasks. Wish it was more compact like the Japanese brand 1/2t, but at least chain length is good. It's real Tractel but MADE IN CHINA
