Not up to Dexter Russell's usual quality. Got these to stir natural peanut butter (the kind that separates as it sits) and then spread it. The length is good to fit into a standard 1 lb jar of peanut butter, and it's stainless with a hygienic plastic handle, but that's about all that's good. The biggest issue is that the blade is VERY thin and overly flexible, so that when peanut butter is cold (refrigerated) it's virtually worthless. The edges of the blade are very rough; it's just stamped steel with NO finishing on the edges at all, so they scrape along the plastic jar. Not good. The plastic handle has completely unfinished mold sprues which are sharp and uncomfortable. Yes, that can be dealt with by a little sandpaper, but hey, how about doing that at the FACTORY? These things aren't really all that cheap, either. And last, by no means least, the tang (the part of the blade in the handle) is tiny, and barely goes in about 1/3 of the handle (absolutely NOT full tang). I will be surprised if these last very long. Spreading mayo, ketchup, mustard, any thin material, should be fine. Anything thick? I'm just waiting for the plastic handle to crack and having to throw it away. I have several Dexter turners and their SUPERB traditional Green River knife - these spreaders are NOT up to that quality.
