I've always appreciated how well the Trangia strap (and clasp) secures my Trangia cook set--it's simple, durable, and doesn't loosen until you release the strap. I recently purchased the Self Reliance Outfitters PF-40 mess kit--basically a faithful reproduction of the Swedish army M-40 mess kit. It's a great kit but the handle and hanger rattle quite a lot--nothing ties the whole kit together securely. So I measured and compared with the length of the Trangia strap: perfect fit!--I can now easily keep the entire PF-40 kit secure with one easy-to-remove strap. Almost no extra weight or bulk. Solid, cost-effective solution.

I like this strap better than the original one that came with my Trangia. I happened to have lost that one. This strap however, I think it looks better than the non-descript one. This one is nice and colorful, and bears the Trangia logo, which I am proud of because it is a great stove & company.

I bought a used Stainless steel Swedish Mess stove kit, and this fit it perfectly. It keeps all the bits together.
