This is a great umbrella. Compact but not too small. Easy to use. Works well and locks in place while open, easy to close and stays closed. Simple design. Clean look. And most of all, keeps you safe from the rain! Highly recommend and will likely be getting a couple more!

The vents and the flexible hinges help make this umbrella wind resistant. While I've had a chance only to use it with gusts around 25 mph, it held up. I consider this a one person umbrella as it's large enough to keep rain at bay, it's not so large that it would keep the rain from two people like some massive umbrellas. That also means this one is light weight. It opens quickly and easily, which is key when raining conditions prevail. It's a simple black umbrella, so it looks good. Once the umbrella is dry, the cover is easy enough to put back on that I can keep this in my purse without items being lost in the folds of the umbrella. At the current price point, I think this is a great value for an umbrella that not only keeps me dry but also holds up against the wind.

This umbrella is not super compact which is what I was hoping for. Maybe somewhere between a true compact umbrella and a standard one from the department stores. I think the mechanism for opening and closing is as effective as the ones I've found from department stores and the build quality is generally good. Overall I think it's a solid umbrella.

This isn’t wind proof but it’s definitely wind resistant. I used it in San Francisco on a windy rainy day and it did the trick. This is a high quality, heavy duty umbrella so it’s not like other “ travel” umbrellas I’ve had in the past. It adds weight and bulk to my bag, but I guess that’s the give and take.

This is a really good personal umbrella to keep in my backpack for the random spring storm. I live in an area where the weather fluctuates a lot so I don't want to have to carry something huge. That said it's definitely smaller so if you're looking for an umbrella to share this probably isn't it. I live in a super windy area and this has the very important feature of wind slots -- regular umbrellas get instantly torn up here because they just catch the wind. I don't care how strong the ribs are if they don't have windslots they're useless here. It's a lot easier to hold this one because of the wind slots letting the air out and it hasn't flipped over once in the past very rainy week that I've used it. The material of the umbrella is a bit thinner than my other big umbrella but doesn't seem to impact it's ability to keep the rain out and probably just means it's lighter in my bag. So as long as it still functions the way I need then I'm happy to carry less bulk around. The plastic bits all seem really durable and solid though, the handle doesn't feel cheap and the ribbing seems like it'll hold up well. It comes with a nice case to keep it inside of so I can also throw it in there to make sure it absolutely doesn't get anything in my bag wet. But it seems to dry a lot faster than usual umbrellas so that also helps. The auto open is snappy. Although as I feel is usual with auto open button umbrellas that's a bit hard to close after. Not terrible but I might not give it to my grandma. I like the red color-- it stands out vs other people's umbrellas and makes me easier to spot on a rainy day so I'll be less likely to be ran over.

This umbrella has a quick push button to deploy it, which is not so unusual. What is unusual is that it also has a button to retract it about halfway, then you push the half-folded version down to a fully retracted and compact position. COOL!Overall, this is a 'medium' sized umbrella.. not too small... not too giant. The slits/vents are great to reduce influence from the wind and seem to still block rain just fine. Once dry, the optional cover tightens the size to be even more compact. This umbrella is very nice quality and I would absolutely recommend it to others.
