This is a beautiful travertine utensil holder. The packaging and product page are misleading because they call it "marble," but marble is an entirely different stone. This is travertine, which you can tell because of its many distinctive tiny holes and channels. It looks much rougher than marble, giving it a bit more of a rustic look. Personally, I think it looks great, and I prefer it to the smooth look of marble. This utensil holder is very heavy and will stay in place on your counter. It must be hand-washed. It is quite large and will hold a ton of utensils, which is great if you have limited drawer space. I think it's lovely and would also make a great gift.

Travertine is beautiful for its natural crevices and tiny holes that give it a beautiful textured patina. This is a heavy piece so your utensils won't topple it over because they are naturally top heavy. The bottom is a silicone pad so it won't scratch your counter. The finish is matte which I think is vey beautiful. This is a great way to anchor a space with a natural stone.
