Based on a great deal of experience, most of the 3rd party Lenovo (and other) laptop batteries have far less capacity than they claim (usually the OEM value) and rapidly degrade, some almost immediately after they are placed in service. This was never even rated as a 72Wh battery- the Lenovo battery test software shows it to have a "design capacity" of only 64Wh. But this battery never had even as much as 64Wh energy storage capacity. Lenovo official test software shows that after 2 cycles of conditioning and testing its fully charged capacity is 58Wh. So the product page claims an inflated nonexistent 72Wh charging capacity- instead of the actual value which is 58Wh.So, is 58Wh bad for a 3rd party T480 "72Wh" max size battery? As they go, not too bad. However the more important test is whether this battery will quickly deteriorate or be able to deliver over 55Wh after 25 cycles some time from now.If this battery keeps more than 54Wh for at least 6mos I will not update this review. Otherwise, this review will be updated. For now 4 stars because of the seller's product page inflated maximum capacity by 20% - If truthful, the rating would have been 5 stars in view of the value proposition relative to the 72Wh OEM product. Short lifetime may cut this to 1 or 2 stars, to be determined.

I bought this to replace my 5-year-old HP Envy x360 laptop battery, which deteriorated and lasted only two hours instead of the original nine. The battery arrived in a safe package—bubble wrap inside the box, and the battery is in an antistatic bag. With the included tools, the installation was easy (the original battery cable was taped to the side of the battery; this wasn't, but it was easy to fix with electric tape). The battery came with a 65% charge. I followed the instructions and discharged it to 7% using the laptop (the manual recommends 2%, but my laptop turned off at 7%), then charged it to 100%.The battery lasted almost 7 hours (from 100 to 10%) under continuous use. The laptop with high-performance settings was connected to a 32" external monitor for normal use, office work, video editing, and browsing. The laptop has no dedicated graphics card, only built-in Intel UHD graphics, so I can't test it with gaming.Overall, I'm happy with the battery so far. We'll see how long it maintains this performance.
