I have always used the rope and prios knot system that comes with the safety vests. Always fearful of just dangling off a tree while injured, I sought out a new system. A friend recommended this. It is fantastic! Incredibly well made. Now I am much more comfortable while in a treestand knowing that if I fall I will reach the ground safely and easily. Get one. You will be glad that you did.

The Wingman really does work. It's easy to use and gives you a nice controlled descent to the ground. The instructions that come with it aren't great, but the Wingman website has videos that show you how to set it up and make the adjustments. Plan to test it out with a few practice "falls" in your backyard before you get in the deer stand. Out of the box, the fall was set a little fast for me, but it was easy to adjust, and now it lowers me nice and easy. I'll feel more comfortable than ever in my tree stand this year.

I bought this for my husband's birthday for him to use when hunting from his tree stand. His prior safety harness would have left him hanging in the tree - better than hitting the ground, but still stranded and susceptible to circulation dangers that occur in such situations. This safety harness is great in that it is designed to slowly lower him to the ground in case of a fall. Thankfully, he hasn't had to try it out in a real emergency, but he is very pleased with its design and security, and it has been easy for him to wear. I feel much better knowing he won't be seriously injured in a fall OR left hanging and stranded in the woods - possibly unable to reach his cell phone, without cell service, or too far away for timely help. I would encourage other hunters who hunt alone to think about that possibility with other methods of restraint. This has eased my mind!

I've been hunting for years. I have always had a life life or just the tree strap with a harness. I have never fallen from a stand and hope that my wife and I never do. But this system puts all my worries to ease. I have tested it with my wife and myself about 12 ft up from a ladder. It works perfectly! I can't say enough about this product. Other companies have similar products... but they are not reusable! You can't test the product to make sure it works. These devices work amazing and I know officially exactly what's going to happen if I fall and exactly what it will feel like. I am so confident now in this product that I am more calm and safe in my stand that I actually have the groups on my bow getting tighter. I wouldn't even worry about falling from any height with this system. Research for yourself and you will understand! I wouldn't trust anything else for anyone in my family!

First, the product came much quicker than expected. It is built well and seems to be rock solid. Hopefully I will never have to put it to work, but if I do then I have no doubt that it will slow my fall. I have yet to test, but will update when I do.Update 8/28I tested the product and it took a lot of time to adjust. Got about 6 feet up the tree and jumped off and just hung there and never came down. After about 20 minutes of adjusting, it finally worked like it should. I tested it about 5 times and the line started to fray. I got in contact with black ash, and the said that there was a bad batch of line that was sent out. They gave me a shipping label and said to send it back. They are supposed to restring and recertify the product and send it back. They said that they would have it all set for my weight so I wouldn't have to adjust it. If you bought it watch the line to make sure it doesn't fray on the edgesUpdated 9/23Bleach ash sent me a new one. Tested it out a bunch of time and it was perfect. The line did not fray this time and seemed more durable. It took a while to adjust it to my weight, but after all the adjustments it seems perfect.

This product is awesome! I hunt on a property with no cell service, so I need to be able to self rescue in case of a fall from the stand. I was able to test this product on my last hunt and it performed flawlessly! At 250lbs I didn't need to adjust it at all and it lowered me quickly but gently. It's super easy to use and eliminates the bulky tree strap that came with my harness, although I see no reason I couldn't attach this to that strap as well.Simplicity is key. No complicated springs or pulleys, just friction. I trust this thing.A+!

I like this system over others because unlike other safety harnesses you aren’t left hanging in a fall, which saves your life but still leaves you with the problem of having to cut loose and still falling. This system allows for a controlled ascent. It is not bulky and easily carried or left at your stand (no mechanical parts to wear, weather, or malfunction). I use mine with a climber and it resets quickly and easily as your going up or down, which cannot be said for standard safety straps. I feel much more secure using this system. Plus if you do fall it can be reset and reused. Other ascenders are a one time use. Affordable. American made. Small business made. Highly recommend.

Tested it out the first day I got it amazing how well it works. I feel a lot safer hunting way back in the Woods by myself using this device that will lower me to the ground if I fell out of my stand. In the past I've had to worry about if and how long I might dangle from a tree before rescue arrived. Excellent product very good quality.I loved being able to test it and see how it work before trusting my life to it in a tree stand. It is very easy to use, quiet and is basically set up ready for you to use when you get it if you weigh over 150 lb . Under a hundred fifty pound you have a little bit of a setup to do nothing major . They're great videos online on how it works and how to use it. Going on my sixth season with it very impressed with the quality and how well it has held up. It comes with case but I usually just throw it in a backpack without the case. I use the end of the webbing to pull my backpack up the tree. I'm wondering if it could be use for a deer drag too. Don't see why not if I'm careful not to damage it.
