Very nice & durable cover. It was extremely easy to install, even while the optic was on the firearm. The lenses were simple to put in. I’d recommend this product to anyone, if you’re looking for a good way to protect your MRO.

The weak points in any modern optic are the lenses and the switch controlling brightness. The MRO factory cover protects both. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. This was my third installation and the instructional review helped. It's best to use a small needle nose pliares to grip the rubber cover, but it must have smooth outer surfaces to avoid marring the optic. The current lenses came without a film covering, so removal was not required. The last cover came with a scratched lens. Trijicon customer service replace the lenses no questions asked for free. That is why I felt safe in making this purchase.A little bit of water makes it easier to snap the lenses in place. The MRO is allegedly water resistant to 100 feet, so the risk is spotting the lens if you are not careful in how you dry it off.The cover keeps the battery cap in place if it were to work loose under recoil. It also gets in the way a bit when it comes time for the annual battery change on the models that actually use red for the dot. Green dots require more frequent battery changes on the MROs.

I’ve read reviews claiming the “glass” that doesn’t come pre-installed was quite difficult to install without scratching. I found this to be the furthest from the truth. Inside each cap is a ridge that holds the glass in place. I simply placed each piece into the “cup” then gently pushed with my finger and it easily snapped into place. Now getting the actual rubber body into place is one heck of a chore. Should have tried sameMethod of placing in warm water first but I didn’t. Found some brute strength with some very carefully orchestrated finessing with the handle of a spoon I was finally able to get the rubber body installed on my MRO.For the most part I keep my green dot off, and with the rubber mount installed it is now a lot harder to turn it on and navigate the brightness settings. And the two lens covers snap into place on the actual optic with ease. But if you open them and snap them together on the side of the optic, it is quite difficult to get them apart without the “glass” inserts popping out.Overall I wish Trijicon would have just made simple flip open dust covers to protect the lenses, as this rubber body isn’t needed for anything other than protecting the aesthetics of the optic as these Trijicon MRO’s are tanks.

Contrary to what I read... this cover was fairly easy to put on. Start with larger end first, and make sure the cover plastic/rubber bottom piece is bending in the right direction (you’ll know what I mean when installing). No need to boil in hot water, as some have stated, and risk altering the structure. As for the piece itself, yes, it’s a bit pricey... seeing as how the cost is likely less than a dollar, but I’d gladly pay $50 to protect my trijicon glass. Fit is phenomenal, lens covers are awesome, and this cover adds to overall appearance.

Fits nicely, makes adjusting the brightness slightly more difficult but no real issue. As other reviews state it is tought to get on but much easier if you read the directions. I feel like this will protect my optic nicely.

it works, but the clear plastic inserts are super soft and scratch very easily. was hoping for a little more resiliency.

Fits fairly snug, the fore to aft snugness is to be desired. As it's kinda squishy when mashing the lens covers closed. Wish it covered a little more like the base where the 1=1/2 MOA markings, scripture and W&E hash marks. The protective lens seem to be polycarbonate plexiglass so nothing too special still capable of smug, scuff and scratching, but they are laser cut. The rubberized skin is the real prize and worth buying even if to just cut the objective lens cover off to run an ARD. Will be buying one in FDE soon.

All I can say to Trijicon is "it's about time". I'm so thankful that the company has put out a cover for the MRO that is of high quality with regard to fit and finish. Even though this particular model can withstand everything short of a bomb, this cover really gives it a second layer of protection. The lens covers are very welcome addition. I previously had to rely on Butler Creek scope covers of which I could only use one for the front as I could never find one for the back that would fit. The scope cover offers the opportunity to leave the lens caps on without having to remove them to shoot through. Usually adding another lens of some type may create some distortion, but not in this case. Trijicon chose their materials wisely in the making of this product. All the controls are fully accessible without any kind of hindrance from the cover.I have just a few cons regarding this product and they all relate to installation. The lenses are smartly packaged and have covers to protect them from scratching which are extremely difficult to remove. This may just have been the case with mine alone but I hope you have a good set of fingernails and some patience. Had to rely on my wife to remove the film that covered the lenses (right after she got he nails done a few hours before). She lovingly cooperated for her gun nut husband. Putting the cover on was somewhat of a minor fight. The end product is fantastic but getting this cover on your MRO is not going to be something that you're going to do in 30 seconds. Then again you may,so if you did please post up on how you did it.I'm going to be running my rifle this weekend to determine whether in fact the lens covers can stay on and not have my vision distorted while I run and gun. If they don't function to my liking, I will just fold them onto the side and keep on trucking. No more searching for aftermarket covers and lens caps for this guy. I'm very happy with this product. Get you one, you won't regret it. BTW it's about 10 bucks cheaper on Amazon than the Trijicon website.
