Very nice stainless steel 2" trailer ball. It appears the nut and washer are stainless also. The 1/2" square hole on top is so you came tighten the ball. I don't believe it's for grease. The socket fitting and a 1 1/2" wrench makes it a breeze to install. 1" shank rated for 8,000 lbs Make sure to put locktite on the threads before you put it together. Safety first, you don't want the ball and nut to come apart when you're towing..

The ball is nice, I however don't care for the square hole in the top, meant for 1/2 breaker bar to torque ball down. It turns into a little pocket of water that's always there.

Look like superior quality. Had to return it as I ordered the wrong size but now have the correct size 2 5/16 Stainless steel. It's better quality than the normal steel for sure.

Works great, def would purchase again. After 2 months of it on my truck no rust!5 years later Update: fantastic product. Only rust I have screen is from a rusty trailer rubbing off. Cleans right off.

I purchased the "Trimax TRZ8AL 8" Premium Aluminum Adjustable Hitch with Dual Hitch Ball and T3 Receiver Lock" and am very pleased with the Hitch. I wanted the "Stainless" 2" Ball so I ordered the one my hitch instructions said I needed and what Amazon showed with the other items I could purchase at the bottom of the screen displaying the hitch. Silly me, because this ball does not fit the hitch. I called Trimax and customer service said they were sorry and that was it. Although their instructions gave the part number to order and it matched the Amazon number, there was nothing they could do because I ordered it through Amazon. I give Trimax 1 star for poor customer service. I returned it to Amazon and they gave me a refund saying it wasn't their fault and charged me for the shipping back to them even though I am a Prime member. So, even though I checked the directions that came with the hitch and checked the accessories associated with the hitch on the Amazon sight, I guess it was my fault???? Beware, the shaft of this ball is not long enough for the above hitch. That is the reason for 1 star! One last thing. The instructions that came with the hitch showed the part number and the picture that is on the Amazon site, I was informed by customer service that they do mot make a single ball for this hitch. I wonder if either Amazon or Trimax will have a answer for my review??????

Goods arrived promptly (Australia) and were exactly as described in the online advert. The ball is being used on a boat to provide the ball in a "ball and socket" joint. This joint allows a solar panel to be correctly aimed at the sun - this maximizes the panel's output. In fact, when compared to the same panel fixed flat, the output of the panel is up by about 40 - 50 percent . If I take the time to alter the panel's position every one and a half hours, the higher output is maintained through the day.
