Adjust the oiler, use oregon chain, sharpen with 5/32 dremel bit, tension properly. Used about 3/4 gallon of bar oil, but only a half gallon of gas. Great tool.

At the beginning i tought was going to be a practical tool. First time worked good second time the chain came lose continously I adjusted as much I could but not. The oiler has to be filled more that usual really is not the best I feel frustrate with this.

I've used the same pole saw for the last five years to trim the limbs along two miles of road and fence line. Overall the unit is durable. If you have a new unit, the first thing to do is tune the oiler so that it actually oils the bar, but doesn't apply too much. I use Canola oil, which is cheap, readily available and it doesn't harm me or the environment. After you have the oiler set, be sure to have the chain tension set correctly. Learn to sharpen your chain as well. No use making your job harder. When not in use, empty out all of the oil or it will leak. I think many pole saws have this issue.

We have lots of trees around our place and trimming them with my 24 inch heavy, chainsaw just wasn’t fun anymore, unless it came to cutting them down completely, so I purchased the TPP720 to operate with my existing string trimmer powerhead.I read reviews before the purchase and saw that others had problems with the chain oiler both not oiling and leaking oil when not in use and all that happened to me too. Fortunately factory service was available in our town, so I took it there and though they never had worked on one before they replaced the oiler mechanism at no charge and it now works well.I’ve had it for more than a year now and I’ve experienced no other problems and find operating it from the ground is much easier than using a ladder. It also has decent balance with good control that avoids accidental damage to surrounding tree bark. Undercutting a branch using the top of the chain results in some binding and vibration which can be controlled by using lighter pressure. It has come to be a favorite tool since it makes such an improvement in a tree’s appearance and the original cost seemed reasonable while it added value to my string trimmer powerhead. The greatest drawback is whether one wants to deal with potential quality control issues from the factory.

Very pleased with this polesaw attachment. I am using it on a Husqvarna weed eater. It came ready to use, just needed to put the oil (included) in the reservoir and switch out my wead eater head for it. I spent several tanks of gas on a Saturday trimming trees and not once did I need to make any adjustments. I cut trees and branches that were aprox 4-6 inches, give or take, with ease...I was extremely impressed! This came with an end cap that has a hoop to hang nicely in my shed, just like the Husqvarna hedge trimmers that I have.At this price, I recieved a much better item than I was expecting. Very high quality product, I definitely recommend this for any home owner looking to trim up their yard full of trees!Pros:Came assembledCame with oilCame with end cap for hangingVery sharp blade, lasted about 6 hours of cutting with no sign of dullingCons: Will post update when I find one

I was very weary of this device because the prices of dedicated pole saws is so much higher and I was concerned this would be a cheap, easily-breakable device. I have used this to cut a TON of branches down, from a few inches to at least 8 inches in diameter, from the ground and from a ladder. This is VERY easy to install on my Husqvarna 128ld and VERY easy to take off. If you own a chainsaw, this works very similar, so it's easy to open the side, remove and replace the chain, sharpen the teeth with a chainsaw sharpening kit, etc.I have found that I needed to tighten the chain a little more often than a standard chainsaw, for some reason, but definitely not a big deal. I also had to tweak the small screw that adjusts how much oil comes out on the chain a bit, as the chain seemed pretty dry.I would recommend this to anyone who has standard yard maintenance to do - the plastic side probably wouldn't hold up very well to commercial use. I have used this a lot though and it still looks fairly new, very impressed!

Read the negative reviews and one positive review that said you just need to tune the oiler and chain tension. Listen to that info. This thing runs fine. Adjustment is easy as any regular chain saw. Honestly if you have ever started a weedeater you can assemble this and adjust the chain. The line screw is labled for what direction oils the blade heavier and it comes with the alan key to adjust. The only 2 negatives I can think are that it does have plastic parts (knew it would, didnt care due to the cost of the unit) and my 128 husky trimmer gets hot a little quick running the saw - a more powerful trimmer motor may not and I just let her cool down more frequently. I am cutting everything from light brush to 4 and 5" trees with this continually on the over grown section of the back property line. If you have never had a pole saw they are invaluable for work that involves brush and trees, not just climbing tall branches.
