I don't know who calls this gray. It is taupe. Hold it be something gray it has a taupe/lavender hie, hold it by something brown, it matches.

I used this trim for a re- upholstery job on rocking chair. It was the perfect match for my neutral boy nursery. It is a warm gray. The fabric part is a steel gray color and the elastic cording part that loops is more of a taupe/tan gray. If you are looking for a real icy cool gray, this might be too warm, but it worked out perfectly for me.

Great quality but the color was totally wrong looked more pink than gray.
