This performs perfectly. We got this because we have a bear problem. The bigger older bears did not care nor were thry deterred by the shot. The younger bear was scared off.

Was needing to secure an area on my property. Hopefully this keeps what ever is getting my chickens out.

I could not be happier with this trip alarm. It is everything I had hoped for, from the quality lightweight Kevlar trip wire to the sturdy and rugged built base. I have frequent black bear visitors. I can’t think of any way to improve this device. It’s a great value because it will last for years.

The internal components are made of stainless steel guaranteed never to rust. Unlike some Chinese models I've had within several weeks they're Rusty and won't work. Made in America (TRUST) TRIP ALARM Co. You won't regret it!

It's early days but so far this trip alarm works well. I needed something to stop the local (Maine) herds of deer treating my garden like their own personal "all you can eat salad bar" ! I have /had a Hosta collection which they love to destroy resulting in dozens of plants dying and being pulled out of the ground. I don't want in anyway to hurt these beautiful creatures, but enough's enough. I am using half load 12 gauge blanks which so far have resulted in zero deer in my garden. I have around two acres of grass which they also love to dig up leaving hundreds of potholes that have to be filled each spring. I will give it another few weeks and if the results continue I will purchase a few more to cover other areas. I placed my trip alarm on sturdy posts and as advised by the guy that supplied the blanks I placed a large ceramic tile under the discharge area to stop any sparks igniting the grass and surrounding foliage .I do have two small negatives, the first is that after firing the spent cartridge it is sometimes difficult to remove due to the deformation of the brass, but a screw driver generally helps with that. The second is that our local Maine gun supply stores do not keep blanks in stock. The result is that I had to order online with outrageous shipping costs which amounted to way more than the cost of the box of cartridges . Not the fault of the seller or product but something to look into ?
