Ordered DAFGSE 940-108 trunk latch/actuator but got a 604-108 heater blend door actuator at first… but then the Amazon tracking updated as if it was still en route. Sure enough, the correct part arrived the next day. Both boxes were labeled 940-108 even though one wasn’t even big enough. I thought Amazon or the seller had proactively realized the mistake and sent the correct part before I could even ask but then duplicates of other items from the original package/order started arriving in separate packages. It seems Amazon was replacing everything in the box as if something had happened to it.Anyway, the first time I installed it the trunk wasn’t closing. It was probably something I did wrong but I didn’t have time to figure it out before work. I had to switch back to my original part so I could close the trunk and get to work. The next day I tried the DAFGSEA replacement again and it worked perfectly. The only thing I did differently was route the emergency pull handle to the final/correct position, so make sure you do the same. It’s definitely not OEM quality but, well, it works where OEM had failed on me. Unfortunately, I had ordered a new OEM unit at work before my success when trying again. Doh! An offer was ending in 4 minutes and I only knew the DAFGSEA didn’t work when I first tried. The issue with my original, OEM actuator was that the trunk would not open when I pressed the button or used the remote. The brake lights would flash but I wouldn’t even get a click from the actuator. In the mean time the issue went away despite haunting me for the first week of using this car. I would literally go days without being able to get in the trunk. The previous operator says he never had the issue so I’ve actually switched back to the original OEM part. Maybe it was some glitch from when I was still carrying around both key fobs. If it happens again, well, I have two more to switch back to. [it happened again]I can’t confirm that this solves my original problem since my original part has suddenly been working perfectly. [can confirm this was the fix since the original began acting up again]Notes:The plastic cams that attach to the cable are not greased. The original is greased and the cable end is metal… so add grease. The door that covers the cable connection does not fully close easily. If the door does not latch on the plastic catches, the other end is likely running into a lip where it is supposed to go under. Make sure it goes under.Again, make sure the emergency pull cable is routed through the liner and clipped to the trunk. Not doing this may be why the trunk wasn’t closing the first time I tried to install this part.
