They were not ripstop as I thought. My fault for not reading. I will keep them as I have had several pairs of these pants over the years. They are a little heavier but still comfortable.

I've been buying these for years. I'm very hard on my clothes and these have never let me down. I've bought them in different sizes as I lose or gain weight, different colors, or different materials, but I've never worn a pair out yet. If I was stranded on a desert island with only one pair of pants it would be a pair of these. Also they're high quality, comfortable, and run true to size.

I work out in the sun on archaeological digs. These pants reflect the sun and stay cool in the mid day sun. Hard wearing. Blue jeans get hot.

Muy buenos pantalones, los compré para el trabajo, pero estoy pensando en comprar mas en otros colores para el uso diario.

Excellent product. Tad heavy but comfortable. Would suggest ordering a size or two lower. The elastic band in the waist makes for an easy fit even with smaller size

These are fantastic pants, if their characteristics are what you're looking for. Here are the key points to know:* They are quite heavy - they're thick and they weigh A LOT more than most "normal" pants such as jeans. Suitable for colder weather, but not a summer hike.* They run long, and five washings and hot dryings shortened them somewhat but they still drag on the ground if I don't have shoes on.* With all the pockets, and generally oversize/baggy, nobody will mistake them for slacks -- you'll look like a soldier for better or worse.* They are extremely comfortable, and the elastic waist is a fantastic feature -- they flex and you'll never feel constrained.* The pockets are fantastic because there are many of them, and they all fasten securely.* You'll need a belt -- they're just so heavy that they'll start to fall down without a belt.* I wore these on long hikes and casual mountain biking and they were perfect - but the weather was very cool.* No need to iron as far as I'm concerned - you won't be wearing them to the office Christmas party anyway. The absolute best pair of pants I've ever owned, for comfort and utility -- as long the weather isn't too warm and I can get away with a very casual look.

Great long lasting pants. I love these traveling on a plane. The pockets are great for keeping handy all of the "required" devices for business travel without being awkward for movement (cell phone, wallet, id, boarding passes, headphones, etc) or uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. The pockets are also great for stashing things quickly when trying to get off the plane. They don't show the wear and tear and wrinkles of travel but they are very comfortable and without a hard look, they have blended well in meetings at the end of a flight where " business casual" is the norm. They have also spent a lot of time on equipment installation sites. The look is a step up from what the trades are wearing but the black color hides dirt for when you need to do more than supervise. This is my second pair. The first pair is showing some wear and fraying on the pocket flaps and the cuff at the heal after 3 years of high tier frequent flyer status. The first pair will now be used for weekend work.

oh be still my heart. I tried SO MANY pants on, men's and women's, trying to find a pair that I liked. I HATE the lower waist of women's current styles so that was a major part of my search. I just can't wear a belt unless it's AT my natural waist. No belt, no Leatherman. These pants have all the many cool pockets, and the cargo ones on the leg do NOT bulge unless you stick something really bulgy in there. That's a good thing :-), huge saggy cargo pockets don't make me happy. These pants hit me at my waist and oh, too many cupcakes today? They have a wee bit of well hidden elastic that is forgiving ;-).They are dressier, definitely more "slacks" than jeans, for sure.I took a chance getting these in men's but the women's styles all looked low or lower-waisted and I'm so happy I did :-).Update; I LOVED these pants the moment I tried them on and that love has only grown deeper ;-). Now they've been worn on duty and I can say for sure they are comfy, flattering, and I can stick lots of stuff in lots of pockets without looking like a duffle-bag.

I've worn these for about two weeks now and washed them several times. Great fit, good quality and plenty of strategically placed pockets. I like the fact that they are cotton, they are a little stiff at first but not really that bad and after a couple of washes they softened up some. This would indicate to me that they will last for a while. I tend to have one or two pair of pants that I wear when I'm not suited up for work and I think these are my new favorites. One of the reviews I read before buying stated something about the button being cheap and coming off easily. Either they got a bad pair or they have fixed the problem because the button seems pretty sturdy to me. I bought 32" waist and I usually go back and forth between a 33" and 32" when buying pants, with the hidden stretch design in the waist these fit great and are very comfortable.
