I had this installed at approx. 90k miles when my OEM went belly-up and it worked (not great) for approx. 12k miles when my engine (after going over a bump) started bucking and back firing on all cylinders. I was able to nurse the truck home and ordered a new distributor (MADE IN CANADA) installed it and now my truck runs and starts better than it ever has during the 14 yrs I have had it. Take a lesson from my experience and DO NOT BUY ANYTHING MADE IN china...It's total CRAP!!!!!!!!

This distributor exceeded all expectations. GM should have used one like this in the original build. Great quality and shipping was super fast! Looks like quality and craftsmanship from years gone by. It's actually aluminum not composite. Thanks

This distributior fixed my 1997 s10 4.3 vortec. I just put it in, so far so good. Fired up no problem. The distributor seems to be better quality than the flimsy stock plastic gm distributor that was in it. Of i have any trouble I will give you an update, but like I said, no issues so far.

So far so good - this new one seems to be of better quality than the one it is replacing. That one failed after several years, when the rotor screws backed out and caused the rotor mounting flange move on the shaft. The metal flange is pushed on to the shaft with a flat spot for the index. This car had the same problem when it was given to me - screws backing out of the rotor. If I ever have to remove the screws, they will be fitted with lock washers. It looks like they come new with thread locking compound.

Excellent quality, and a much improved engineering design over what GM delivered in their OEM version.I ordered this to replace the distributor on a vehicle which had only been serviced by my GM Mr. Good Wrench dealer, yet they managed to snap one of the distributor cap hold down ears off. I only discovered this when I went to replace the cap myself as part of a routine tune up some years later.
