The size of this ink pad is very small (about 1.5 inches). I had read other reviews, so I expected this. However, I did not expect "brown" to actually be RED. Also, it took a very long time for this product to be shipped, so I had already gone out to Michaels and bought another brown ink pad. Once I finally received this one, the color was so red compared to the other brown ink pad, that I was unable to use it. Weird.

I was afraid that the color of the ink wouldn't be much like the picture of the pad itself but it is. Its a very pretty olive color and I use it often.

So when I received this, the first thing that surprised me was the size. The size listed is correct, I just didn't realize that this is pretty darn small. Might be good for single letter stamps or other smaller design stamps, but not practical for longer number series stamps (the reason for purchase)As far as quality of the ink, it is hard to say. I can only compare it to the Versa Red I got and the standard Staples brand large ink pads. The Staples large black ink is definitely the best as far as true pigment and quality of the stamp. I found that the blue ink is inconsistent from stamp to stamp and you have to be more 'careful' and can't really get away with rapid stamping. (ink will smear quickly or the ink will surround the edges of the design, leaving the imprint lighter than the edges around it) The crimson red, I find to be a little bit better with these issues. The pad itself is very spongy and differs from traditional inkpads greatly.I number every page of my new journals, which I put a lot of stuff in (collage, drawings, etc) so it got the job done and I appreciate the inconsistencies, but for a perfectionist it may not be the best choice? Hard to say. Not many other choices out there, so it really depends on your project I think.
