These are the kind of rubber that seems oily, or slightly sticky. I'm not crazy about them. I got the small size and they were ok for sock needles, but these large ones just fell right off a 5mm (us size 8) needle. Don't recommend the larger size.

Better than expected, absolutely adorable, was worried they wouldn't stay on very well after reading the other reviews, but honestly been using for about a month now and they have never fallen off. Maybe they are using smaller or metal needles, I've been using 8 and 7 both wooden with no issues

These are cuter than normal knitting tips. They stay on relatively well but not enough for heavy duty travel knitting.
