Just received these beauties. No scratches. No loose parts. Very clean and tight. Dropped right in to my MIM 2001 Fender Jazz. No modifications required. Very satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to upgrade tired tuners on this type Bass.

If I could give this product a negative-star review, I would. I ordered four tuners to "upgrade" a Squire bass. When the machine heads arrived, one of them had an excessive amount of play between the two gears, and the peg head wobbled in its stand. I contacted the seller for an exchange, as the other three seemed fine, and they were very good about working with me. I was unwilling to wait for my new fourth tuner to arrive, however, so today I filled the old holes on my bass headstock, drilled new ones to accommodate the Hipshots, and installed the three that I had.One of the three tuners broke while I was installing the new strings. The machine head literally fell off in my hand from its base while I was trying to bring the string up to initial pitch - it didn't even get there. Out of the four I ordered, at least two are trash. I don't trust the remaining two enough to keep them on my bass and I don't want more. Now I'm going to have to plug the new holes I just tapped into my bass headstock and re-drill the holes I just filled to re-install my old Squire tuners. What a ridiculous pain! At $40 a tuner, this low quality control is inexcusable.

I believe these are a somewhat better than the stock tuners but definitely not the standard of quality I was expecting. Lots of inconsistency between the 4 tuners I have and some wobble between the worm gear and round gear. One tuner has a a pitted, wrinkled nickel finish looking totally different than the other three. All of the tuning keys have fine scratches. I can not recommend these, the price is too high, quality control is poor. This kind of quality is what you'd expect from China not the U.S.A.

These really make the bass look like a million bucks. They work good and the bass is easier to tune. Fit perfectly on my 95 MIM Fender Jazz Bass. They took less than 15 minutes to install.
