The cover handles fold down and lock on the base, giving you a solid grip when removing hot rice from the microwave. Tupperware can generally be expected to produce quality products and this rice cooker is no exception. It is the design of this product and how well it cooks rice that leads it to stand out from the crowd. I live at high altitude and cooking rice here is always a bit of a challenge. This rice cooker takes all of the guesswork out of preparing perfect rice every time. I normally don't buy specialized products when I can do the job with a multitasker but, my son raved about his Tupperware rice cooker and I decided that this is one specialized tool I wanted to have.

I have one of these from way back when I attended a Tupperware party, at least 20 years ago. My daughter wanted a microwave rice cooker and I made the mistake of purchasing a different kind... She used it, but it just didn't work as well. I was so pleased to see this on Amazon! She is thrilled with it, and I know it will last just like mine has. Doesn't hurt that it is in her favorite color! Thanks Tupperware!

love this rice cooker. This is a replacement for one that i have worn out. Makes perfect microwaved rice in 12 minutes. Two cups water, one cup rice ( I use basmati) small amount of salt add covers and cook full power. Uncover and fluff when done.

I have tried all sorts of microwave rice cookers. I use it for more than just rice: oatmeal, pasta, other grains... Anything that cooks in a similar manner.Where Tupperware succeeds and *all* of the other ones fail is this one does not make a mess in the microwave from boiling over. I have this big one. I also have the smaller individual sized one. I'm buying at least one more of each to have as backup since Tupperware is not going to be around much longer.Yes I could buy an electric rice cooker or I could make rice on the stove, however, there are disability reasons why those options are not practical for me.

I've been looking for a decent rice cooker that doesn't overflow the moment it starts cooking, and I can't believe how much of a waste of money this was. Who am I going to feed with just 2.2 Liters? It said 3 Liters but I got 2.2 Liters. Overflows my microwave. I am sick of these cheap brands. Don't buy this, get an actual electric rice cooker.
