The Tusk Exhaust Heat Shield fits on the OEM exhaust and is designed to effectively protect against melting or burning luggage on the exhaust of your motorcycle. The unique and sturdy design also adds heat protection as well as support behind the side panel. This keeps luggage from pushing the side panel onto the hot exhaust, which can cause it to melt.

I don’t know why it was designed to be so long down the exhaust, it’s way to long and tight. I just got done with a 500 mile ride, it protected the bags, but melted the edge of plastic up against it. It should be 1/3 the length or half the height off the exhaust. I am just going to trash it and get one of the smaller ones. I don’t recommend buying this for a 2023 701.
